If you look anything like this, please take your custom next season elsewhere... Fans of Ebbsfleet United look like this
Sir Oswald Vol au vent and his Orpington Union of Reactionaries appear to be in full flow towards a confrontation with Belgium and the English middle classes resident in the garden of England. Claiming to represent all that is good about Charlton football club he is attempting to overthrow owner and management and will soon be sending the Valley Express to an industrial estate near the Bricklayer arms where "work will set you free" . He will not have anything other than the "right "people support Charlton as he alone knows what is best. He will not allow foreign ownership or have anyone other than his chosen coaches train the squad of football players. He would like to put the fight back into Charlton support and probably fight with others. Not for me old pastry case. Yes it was a defeat on Sunday and yes I did attend and yes I was disappointed and angry at the lack of commitment shown. I am angry that we could go down this season and that we do not appear to have commitment from the players or from the owner. However, until you can show me that you can afford to buy RD out or have better coaching credentials than the current management team then you are just an angry man from Orpington with a delusion about the first part of the 21st century. There are no windmills left in SE7 but I am certain no body would laugh if you started tilting at the Thames Barrier......... No I don't have a comb over, yes I am over 50, no I do not wear a cardigan, yes I do bring food in Tupperware since the food from the ground is unhealthy, I do not collect autographs.
Possibly the best thing i have read in years. Shame you had to make the Millwall comment and add another rant about fans though
Rose tinted glasses as well! This country has a track record of deposing despots and most of the true Charlton fans when told to be more like Millwall supporters will look at the stereotype you would like to promulgate and say no thank you, hell even most of the Millwall supporters wouldn't back you. If you are looking back to the "halcyon" days of the sixties when football clubs were owned by the local mill owner you, to paraphrase, "weren't there".
I would love to. Sadly I am off to the Cheltenham festival tomorrow (horses, not books) so will be otherwise engaged. I will be back in SE7 in time for some bile n'vitriol on Wednesday night Cheers everyone until Thursday
Please do not tarnish us from Orpington with the reactionary element that is known as the Petts Wood brigade. It was Orpington which famously elected a Liberal (when they were real Liberals) in 1962. We also welcome Polish goal scorers with open arms, shame CP does not try him, little to lose by it.
As I said before it's a wind up even vol doesn't want us to start abusing black players as Millwall fans like to do surely !
But V-a-v keeps telling us he is serious. Not only that, he's 110% serious now! Next he'll be telling us that he's really, really serious, honest!
I sat on train home from Sheffield with a group of young drunk men who sung unpleasent things about former black players, loudly talked about what they'd like to do to a group of (under 16 year old dancers) and their teacher who got on at Chesterfield, and slapped their teachers backside, like they had the right. They intimidated virtually everyone around them. In different company I'd have challenged their behaviour but with my wife and son present I didn't want to bring their attentions to bear in our direction. They were revolting thugs and I was embarrassed to be associated with them via the club. Them or me Vol?
