As Cheltenham is getting closer, I can taste the guiness in the Guiness Village. I am off to plumpton tomorrow for warm up beforehand. 16.30 Plumpton- Alteranthela- 7/2 He handles any ground and is a proven performer fresh- Won lto beating fellow competitor According To Them.
Tidal Way Stratford 4.10 @ 16s ew. Back down in trip, on better ground and carry 6lb (with jockey claim) less than last time should see him in the mix. Also on the eve of Cheltenham I see former Neptune winner (was called something else then) Massinis Maquire is trying a marathon trip for the first time today. The 13 year old returned to the track lto following a 2 year absence. The form says last beaten 70+ lengths but the old boy was entitled to need the run after such a long absence and ran well for a long way. The handicapper wasn't impressed dropping him 8lb but at 4/1 I'll wager this fella still has a bit more class and ability than his opponents today. Good luck all who invest today.
On the eve of the Festival, lets remember and give praise to JT McNamara who had an awful fall at the festival last season. The BBC have a story about JT - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/horse-racing/26490902 Off to Taunton today, any selections welcome!!
It's my birthday today going up to Chelts later tonight, been told TIN POT MAN will win the first @ Taunton as a birthday gift from my irish mate, said happy birthday and get your spending money for cheltenham so thought I'd share!! Good luck all
If Hurricane Fly doesn't win tomorrow I'll be cheering home Our Conor as his owner is donating all this prize money towards the JT McNamara Fund. What a thing to do, what an absolute gent.
Enjoy tomorrow and I might sponge that bet, I like the two horses who have no form but nice pedigrees in the race, but if TPM looks ok in the ring I shall have a dabble
Aside from the tip it looks good on paper anyway Nass, 1/2 over c&d, 13 pounds below last winning mark, has won off this mark 2 times out of 2 when he's been on it including by Maloney over this course & distance. 9/1 is a great price
speaking of generous men, I read at the weekend that JP McManus is donating 40M euros to local charities this year as his golf tournament is not happening this year. I know the man has plenty of it but fair play to him all the same. There are plenty of other millionaires in the game wouldn't give a fraction of what he gives.
Two i fancy at Taunton aswell as Tin Pot Man thats already been tipped are: Red Four in the 2:50 and Think It's All Over in the 4:50
Happy Birthday COE 230 Don't do Mondays 250 Attente De Sivola 340 Caulfields Venture singles, doubles and a treble
At least 20-1 Even if you go for the favs or close favs, 7 is a lot to get right. You'd have to think that SDG, BB, HF and BW would all place, but after that .......
I don't have that many darts, i'll be greatful to land a couple of winners or placed ones after last years debacle...
Unlucky with De Sivola gaz... DDM's + Caulfields Venture were a good winners today, if not big prices, winner is a winner...
