According to the BBC gossip column (sourced from the Daily Express) Michael Laudrup has been linked to replace Tim Sherwood as Tottenham manager.
Dutchman Louis van Gaal is another name linked with the position but is there any truth to this?

For starters I wouldn't expect the powers that be at Tottenham to sack Tim Sherwood after one poor result against the league leaders Chelsea.
He's invigorated some of the players (Adebayor being the prime example) and has got them in a great position to get European football next season.

Secondly I don't see a club like Tottenham hiring a manager who was sacked from his previous club for the reasons that Laudrup was dismissed (but we won't get into that).

Anyway what do you guys think? Just another made up story to feature on the BBC gossip column?

I think I remember seeing some Spurs fans on here saying they were quite keen on Laudrup as a replacement for AVB and there were some rumours I think last summer about this. I wouldn't be too surprised to see it happen as I think he wants to stay in the PL.

It would be a shame to see Sherwood get shunted and not get given time. If Laudrup gets it, I wish him luck and I hope he manages to keep it up and not let things drop!

I think he'd like to go to Spurs. One of the few clubs in the pl he'd gladly manage: attacking philosophy and great hunger for success.

Sherwood could step down to 1st team manager/assistant without loosing too much face...

Not so sure about this Mikra. Buying players and selling them on for huge sums of money has been the Spurs way for a long time now.
Also, how would Laudrup feel working under a guy like Levy who seems to buy and sell players of his own accord, as AVB alluded to before and after being sacked and seems trigger happy sacking managers.
Saying that Laudrup might come in for Michu if at Spurs, I'd take Gylfi and £10million in a swap deal there.

I'd be quite surprised if he takes on the job before the season is over. Not his style.

As for his sacking - I mentioned in another thread that it seems not to be related to Laudrup - per comments he made during that long press conference - reported in some danish newspapers(link in danish, google translate it). Huw told him to get rid of Wieghorst and replace him with Monk. Laudrup said no, so Huw got rid of Wieghorst and Laudrup.

As such I understand Huw perfectly fine - since Wieghorst "seemingly" didn't bring anything with him.
