With the league relegation battle wide open, there may be some nice options from the relegated sides. I've picked the 4 worst sides for now:

    Fulham -

Stekelenburg, Kasami, Mitroglou, Dembele (highly rated youngster)

    Cardiff

    Caulker, Medel, Noone, Mutch

    Sunderland

    Mannone, Johnson, Fletcher, Colback,

Loans of interest - Alonso, Ki, Borini

    West Brom

    Foster, Yacob, Morrison, Amalfitano, Berahino

    Loans of interest - Sinclair

I want to see Sunderland relegated but purely just for the fact I've wanted Johnson here since his Boro days. Mannone whilst undoubtedly talented I would pass on but only because I want to see Forster back. Mannone, Forster or Krul I imagine wouldn't want to an second fiddle so I see no movement there unless Krul goes.
    Caulker would be great signing.
Depending on what else may be lined up then I would take Fletcher.

Quite nice to be able to contemplate this rather than worry about relegation ourselves

johnson having a good run at the moment but may suffer from time to time on the form front so none of the above

For me I like Caulker, always have done. I think Berahino and Morrison are really good players. Sunderlands loanees Ki and Borini would be good signings. I hate to admit but I've always like Colback as a player. Not a world beater but he'd be ideal back up to Anita. Similar energetic types. I think Mitroglou is well worth keeping an eye on. Looked good in Greece and CL, I think he might be a very useful striker. Fletcher is better than his recent form but does seem very injury prone.

We need a keeper to back up Krul. Unfortunately those above would be replacements should he go. Noone, Johnson, Kasami are all good wingers.

I'd take Foster and Berahino from West Brom, Caulker from Cardiff (although he probs would command a big transfer fee wouldn't he?!?). Liked the look of Kasami initially, but where's he gone since? Injury/bad form are worrying markers.

Johnson, I'd stay clear of. Whether they go down or not, Sunderland will be looking to make serious money off him, and for what?! He was the bane of their life for all but the last two months of his existence in a Sunderland top... He's probably only bothering his arse now because his agent has pointed out he'll be stuck in the Championship for the rest of his life if he gets relegated with Sunderland playing the way he had been.

Generally, buying from relegated sides is a certain way of ending up near the foot of the table yourself, and seemingly a catastrophically expensive way of relegating yourself, as opposed to buying cheap foreign talent. I'd suggest that if most of those above were in our first team, we'd be relegated.

Steklenburg looked poor yesterday, of course his defenders didn't help.

I see Rhodes and Ings were at it again. Championship options. Though will likely be playing for Burnley in the PL.

I like the look of Jordan Mutch but he doesn't play regularly for Cardiff so I guess can't be great!!

Mcmanaman from Wigan was clearly a very good prospect last year and if it weren't for 'the incident' I would like him at Newcastle. There's some good players in the Championship.

Don't see McManaman going down very well. Don't think Haidara would be too pleased to have him as team mate either.

Don't forget we nicked Demba Ba from a relegated club.

Just revisiting this given Swansea are starting to find ways to lose games. Now if they were to go down, there are quite a few in their squad I think would be good signings:

Michu, Bony, Shelvey, Chico, Vorm are all very handy players.

I don't think there they will go down, I think they'll turn it around. However if they did there is no way any of those guys would stick around. Not sure we'd need Shelvey unless we were losing Anita but the rest would be very welcome. Chico has leadership skills we could definitely use. Vorm is very good competition for Krul (maybe a bit better at this stage), and obviously the 2 strikers would be perfect.

Personally I think Altidore could be a bargain when the Mackems go down <whistle>

I'm hoping that Norwich will be safe but I don't much care about who goes down from

    14 West Ham 30 -8 31
    15 Swansea 30 -6 29
    16 West Brom 30 -12 28
    17 C Palace 30 -20 28
    18 Sunderland 28 -18 25
    19 Cardiff 31 -32 25
    20 Fulham 31 -40 24

If Sunderland stay up we'll have our big game and 6 points to look forward to.

I'd like us to put a bid in for Bony regardless.
    A top top player IMHO.

Mutch looks a very useful player. Colback might be a prospect too but I haven't seen him play enough.
