Never watched much UFC and don't really watch much boxing these days but as I used to box for me it has to be boxing. I like the fact that there is structure and skill to boxing. UFC just seems to be a brawl and if I want to watch that I'll go and stand out side a city center pub on a Friday/Saturday night.

Brock was a beast that trained in MMA for years before signing up.
He lost his first ever ufc fight won his next 2, and got the sh!t kicked out of him his next 2 fights after that before retiring, knowing he was out his depth.

Exactly mate its personal preference. Theys alot more skill than you realise though. Most fighters have a Black belt in a particular martial art, and train in Jui Jitsu, boxing and wrestling.

Point proven, David Haye at ringside tonight admitted he'd need 6 years MORE training before he could compete in the UFC. Thankyou goodnight. X

Yeah purely because of the technique side of UFC, but who wants to learn how to hug a man on the floor, trying to twist his arm before he twists yours?

Watched it tonight and it was ****e not nearly enough striking to warrant the time spent watching it.

Boxing for me, Toe to toe and man to man. Not rushing into a take down then rolling around the floor for five minutes.

Most boxing fans find Ufc boring while most Ufc fans find boxing boring. I actually enjoy both yet have found ufc recently has lost some spark as there are a lack of rivalries happening.

Same with boxing, lack of rivalries.

Rivalries are what make any sport,, more so in individual and I'll like to see Ufc have two fighters of the same standard, instead we see fights like JDS get a lucky win, then cain destroys him in the next two fights,

Most fights are too one sided. Meaning it becomes a dull fest.

And it would take any ufc guys years to work their way up the boxing rankings.

Fact is the money in ufc is pittance compared to prize fighting so why don't guys like Cain valezguez etc come take a shot at the oh so weak heavyweight division?

This is similar to Usain Bolt saying he'd need 6 years training to compete in long distance. Doesn't make long distance better than track

I've been a UFC fan since it's inception back when it was a freak show. I recommend looking up these original fights some are quite bizarre. Before the fighters became multi skilled you'd get some karate dude fighting a sumo! Remember one fight where a boxer bizarrely wore his gloves against a I think a Ju jitsu fighter and got his arse handed to him.
It's evolved so much these days that every fighter needs to be skilled in a number of disciplines to compete.
As for the argument who'd win in a fight, boxer or mma? In the ring the boxer would win 9 Times out of 10 but in the octagon the boxer would be far to one dimensional and would lose 100%.
In my view boxing no longer has the exciting characters it did in the 80's 90's and I've just lost all interest in it.

Thing is i think UFC has lost all its stars/characters. People like Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, Ken shamrock Rampage Jackson Randy Couture Matt Hughes. These guys transcended the sport somewhat. Now all fighters seem much of a muchness.

Floyd Mayweather has more character in his little toe than the entire mma universe imo.

I still stick with what I say though although last nights event was abit of a let down, but the fight card wasn't exactly good!

Not really, runnings running no matter how far you go?? What he means is he'd need lots of time to train to a high standard in various other fighting techniques. To become a success in the UFC you can have no weakness, that's what makes it so exciting in my opinion.

You need to be equally strong with your kicks, knees, elbows and submissions.

The Ufc has never been so popular. It now holds major events in every Continent round the world!

You will never convince some than mma is a better sport than boxing, although imo it is generally.

No heavyweight boxer would last 5 mins in a REAL fight with Cain.

Of course not, but the boxing fans do have a point in a way about all the grappling etc, and how it can be boring.

Some say boxing, some say mma, now i have another favourite, one that many mma fighters use. That is muay thai, fantastic when standing fighting, but once the holding starts it gets boring, that's when a good ref is needed, pull them apart, and let them punch, elbow, knee and kick **** out of each other, then for me, it's the most entertaining of them all.

Yes personally I like seeing elbows and kicks etc.
A Jiu Jitsu fan would say otherwise though.
