TF has already stated were doing this, he said it about six months ago which maybe why we didn't get our targets in January but I'd rather lose out on everyone than pay a combined 100k a week to Johnson and zamora, another 100k to Cesar etc
Financial Fair Play is a contradiction in terms. If they want financial fair play then they should enforce the same budget for Man United as for Crystal Palace, for QPR and for Yeovil and for Wolves and for Shrewsbury FFP exists to embed a monopoly. Top teams now wil be the top teams for ever and the pwners don’t need to put any extra cash in because a City/ Chelsea will never be able to come from no where. It’s a ****ing fix. I cant see it working, because if I was TF and Bhatia or Phil ****ing Gartisde and I got fined for running at a loss. I’d say **** off and take them to court if I lost I’d liquidate the club. So all it would have achieved is protecting the interest of the established elite. It is the beginning of the end for football. If it is successful in enforcing its anti-capitalist rules
If Rangers were promoted sanctions would only kick in after this season's accounts are announced in November. A transfer embargo, a fine and a possible points deduction in January - not summer contrary to reports - could all be levied on a club facing the backlash of serious spending over the last three years.
Some very good points raised in this thread and this FFP does not seem all that clear. I'm in the opinion that it's a tad unfair to the majority of clubs and benefits the bigger clubs. The real death of football will be the ongoing two or three big clubs winning the prem for the next few years. I'm not totally against some sort of new rules for a fairer playing field but the current FFP rules will shaft more clubs than would benefit them. I understand there will be legal challenges to these new rules and can understand being they seem so unfair in my opinion.
If we are promoted, we could be charged 100% of our debt which would have to be paid at the end of January 2015. But it is looking less and less likely that it will come in to effect, too many teams joining together to challenge the FFP.
I posted this in another thread. Also, are we fine if they pay off that debt to the club? I really hate owners spending money they have (like wright) but only in the form of a loan which they will want back or they don't have(like Portsmouth). I'd like to see owners actually forced to hand over the money and I think that should be out of FFP because they aren't sending the club down the toilet.
They basically owe money to themselves. Tony said as much in his statement, he even highlighted it to get his point across. "The debt in the club is owed TO the Shareholders BY the Shareholders." Tony Fernandes
So they've only loaned the club money then, this is what I don't like. Its exactly what wright did and look how that turned out.
Financially it's the most efficient way to do things like this between businesses so I don't have an issue with it as a method (we're in a similar position with about £100M expected to be owed to our owners by the end of this season). The worst way of doing it will work better with the right man (motivations or resources) controlling it than the best way with the wrong man in charge though. The loans over "gift" only becomes an issue when the FFP rules kick in (see link below for quite a good explanation). I don't see how there's a legal challenge though. It's essentially little different to imposing penalties for going into admin, or the regulations the government have introduced/are introducing about the capitalisation of banks. FIFA, UEFA, the PL, and the FL are all private members clubs. If they want to have entry requirements to their competitions then they're free to do so. Any business which doesn't wish to enter under the rules can always choose to withdraw and form their own clubs with other dissatisfied businesses. There is no restriction on any individual's earnings, the requirement is that to be a member of the group you have to either be well run financially or pay an additional fee/accept competition handicaps. http://www.financialfairplay.co.uk/f...-explained.php
The finances they just released do not count towards ffp for us. Next year are where we are susceptible yet any sanctions would only kick in after the results are released in March making it fairly important that we go up this year . Unless of course the club has restructured and has finally sorted out its finances this year but being rangers this is unlikely
Yup, clubs are exempt in the 1st year after relegation. So if we don't go up, we will have to stop looking at prem rejects which isn't a bad thing.
