I've always said that it is not immigration alone that is a problem, but immigration without integration..What we are seeing now is communities being formed that are totally separate from the indigenous population, and this is in my opinion going to cause massive problems for us in the years to come..

I live in an Islamic country right now..one thing I have noticed is how dedicated to this region they are. Its as if they have been brainwashed. pray 5 times a day...for one month they fast during daylight hours etc etc. I also can see a day when this religion takes over, hopefully not in my lifetime

But at what point does a religion become an ideology?

"We had to fight the enemy without in the Falklands. We always have to be aware of the enemy within, which is much more difficult to fight and more dangerous to liberty." Margaret Thatcher on the miners' strike, July 1984

If this "plot" is genuine I think you may have been looking in the wrong direction Maggie

Brainwashing wouldn't happen over here would it. You'd never find it, say, in the USA, where kids salute the Stars and Stripes from their first day of school, or N Ireland during the troubles, or Germany during the 30's, or any Latin country, since probably back to the first pope.

We are all guilty of influencing our kids for right or wrong from the day they're born. Some elements of Islam is just more pernicious than the greater part of it.

Who'd have thought religion would be the cause of so much strife in the 21st century.

Much, much, much, much longer than that, actually <ok>

We're probably talking the dawn of human civilization, speech, and the ability to communicate ideas. For me, at least the guys running around in gutted-boar-pants worshipped something tangible and feasible as a god, eg the Sun. You'd think the omnipresent, God tests us horse-**** would have died out by now. If I had to follow any religion, I'd follow that of the Norse gods... At least you can make a decent comic strip out of it <ok>

I just thought dark ages had a good ring to it ;-)
Religion or God's have been the go to idea for the unexplained. But now we can explain so much through science we should not need to grasp onto fairy tales.

I had an operation 21 years ago which effectively saved my life - a religious friend of mine said that she had been praying for me and that god had saved me. I thanked her for trying what she thought or hoped would help me but pointed out that it was our science that had saved my life - she still maintains that it was god, personally I do not have a problem with religion if it is used to comfort someone who is dying or is grieving but when it is influencing your life or being rammed down your throat then its a no no for me.

Unfortunately religion has been used to control people for centuries - As Jethro Tull said in the song "my god" "and the bloody church of England in the chains of history"
