After Saturdays embarrassment, it surely has to be the right time to draw a line in the sand with Brian McDermott.

He has been given a lot more financial assistance then his predecessors, and when you look at how Grayson had to work on a shoe string budget, I have to say I am bitterly disappointed by McDermotts inept tactics and his transfers.

1m for Murphy. 1m for Wootton. Kebe and Stewart collectively are useless and would struggle to get in a league 1 team.

Sorry Brian, I just don't think things have worked out for you at Elland Road, and we need to get someone bedded in now, so we can hit the ground running next season.

Do we think McDermott will go this weekend?

Who do we think will or should replace him?

If he does go this weekend, I don't think he'll be replaced until after the TO has been cleared up

He will not quit, as that would effect him financially, so who at the club has the authority to actually sack him?

Well as things stand GFH still own us? To be honest, they probably don't care enough to sack him at this point.

TEN Good reasons to sack him:

    1) We were awful pre-season, lacked creativity and although they were friendlies signs were there that we needed to strengthen the squad or change tactics/formation
    2) Outplayed by Division 2 side Chesterfield, they passed the ball around better we were lucky to go through 2-1
    3) Signed Hunt and sent Morrison out on loan.
    4) Spent the entire transfer budget on Murphy who is no better than any of the others we have in central midfield
    5) Record defeat to Sheff W 6-0
    6) Knocked out the cup by Divison two side Rochdale
    7) never won a game in January
    8) Went 8 games without winning a game
    9) Signs Stewart on loan and commits to a 3 year contract when he is obviously awful
    10) Signs Kebe on loan and is the only person on the planet who fails to see how awful he is.

I could go on and add inability to make substitutions, to motivate the team, how we lost today at home 5-1, how he picked Diouf to start a game when unfit and plenty more....

Wonder if he has lost the dressing room, surely not, especially whern you consider the Huddersfield game was only 6 weeks or so ago?

How would we have thought our league 1 side would have faired against our current team (minus Buckland and Wickham)

Easy win... for the league one team. They were two or three players short of playoff promotion material. This lot are scarcely better than Warnocks team and both are mid-table championship.

He won't walk, if he does we wouldn't have to pay him. If they sack him they will need to pay his contract up before getting a new man in, can they afford to do that? I guess they could if they leave Redders in charge.

What I would do if I were GFH and assuming the worst case scenario that Cellino gets blocked.

    1) Sack Brian
    2) Appoint Redfearn until the end of the season
    3) Send back ALL loan players including Stewart, get my solicitors working on a way to get out of offering him a contract. Tell him he is ****, make him cry and not want to come to us, I don't care what just avoid getting him.
    4) Tell all players who are out of contract at the end of the season and who are not having their contracts renewed NOT to come back to the club. I wouldn't be surprised if there is disharmony and bad influences in the dressing room.
    5) If Byram needs an operation get him sorted now and tell him to report back early pre-season, if he doesn't get him playing and sharp again for next season.
    6) Quietly set out feelers for Austin and maybe a couple of other players finding a buyer for them at the end of the season.

Then if Cellino isn't going to take control use the end of the season to see what managers are available and at least don't leave them with the task of shifting dead wood and a disruptive dressing room.

Question - Are we in a better position today than we were on the first day that GFH took control of us? I believe worse as we have more deadwood to shift and at least Warnock was coming to the end of a contract and was going either way. GFH seem to owe every Tom Dick and Harry.

Freedman said the game was won and lost in midfield today. "The key to the result was the way we passed it. We were ruthless."

A poor day, but no need to rush to sack BMD just yet a while.

Frankly, Leeds should give McDermott a two year extension to his current deal and let him get on with it ... his signings have been awesome and we've just been very unlucky ... patience is needed for now, then at least when Cellino sacks McDermott he gets some extra dosh due to his contract extension ... truth is we've had a string of poor managers before McD who laid the foundations for where we are today ... I agree that there will be negative influences in the dressing room, and all the stuff thats broken in the media recently about the club struggling to pay wages and needing to borrow, the FL holding up the TO, a ****ing MP sticking his nose in very publicly in shat can only be seen as an attempt to stop Cellino buying us ... all these things MUST affect the players, and at some point it has to blow up ... well, today was the day, and I fear that we have a few more tonkings in our locker this season ... the only cure is a cleanout in the summer, with only a handful of players being retained, but to do this we will need Cellino to stick in at least £50m to rebuild the squad, it is loaded with poor players right now who are Lge One ability at best ... we will have a new manager in the summer, I don't think Cellino will easily accept results like today regardless ... leave McD in place to end of season, and then replace him as more managers become available then anyway which means better odds of getting the right one ... managing Leeds is not easy, and if you look at the ones who did a good job they were all tough characters - The Don, Wilko, Graham - and in truth that is what we need at Leeds ... it will be interesting to see who Cellino brings in as manager, all roads point to Italy but who knows, maybe even a Laudrup might be persuaded to join up

I'm past bothering to comment further on McD. Almost all can see how hopeless he is, abysmal signings, lack of tactics, signs rubbish and insists on playing them in every game. Cellino would be an idiot to trust him with one penny of his money to spend on transfers

Cellino needs to stop the £1M a month you are losing before he thinks about spending a penny on anything other than his tax bills <ok>

Yep, get someone bedded in this season so we can hit the ground running next season... just like we did this season...

Except oh wait you don't hit the ground running like that with a new manager unless you already have a great squad, which we don't, from years of chopping and changing managers.

Getting a new manager now will just result in the same thing happening next season as what's happened this season. It'll just go round and round in circles forever.
