Lallana is probably our most talented player. Rooney's a shadow of his former self. Sterling MOTM? No chance, it was Lallana, which says it all that a substitute should be MOTM.
I'd say three players' causes have been helped tonight... Shaw looks at home and should go to Brazil instead of Cole/Gibbs to back up Baines. Lallana breathed life into the team and deserves to be a regular starter. Barkley sat and watched Henderson and Wilshere do next to nothing. Jury's still out on Sterling, but he did OK (but not man of the match OK).
We are not going to win the World Cup, but at least we have a promising crop of young players. I'd keep Gerrard and Rooney, but other than that I'd pack the team with young 'uns and say 'Go to Brazil and learn'. Let's go down promising a better future.
Tonight was a chance to asses a different keeper as well, but no, Woy had to be a twat and stick with Hart. Also, he knows all about Welbeck, so imo Rodriguez should've come on instead.
This is what happens when you call up players who are way out of form but because they play for big clubs 'it's alright'.
