    Yeah ok <doh>

That was a loan, which he gets back in the long run. That money is safe, he's lost nothing. The interest is paid by his advertising SD, and the profit he's creaming off is completely separate. Corporate type indeed <doh>

You keep going on about him creaming profit off, so how much each year and how is he doing it as you are obviously privy to info beyond the audited accounts and regulations surrounding the conduct of a company under UK legislation.

Are we not all entitled to an opinion and allowed to contra your arguements or is this forum for the sole disemination of your uncontested ideologies, in other words if you are allowed to spout crap why can't I.

You do realise the massive profit he's made from transfers, right? You know money that hasn't been re-invested in the club? That's called a profit <ok>

I'm not sure if you're aware, but there's also a financial report filed at the end of the fiscal year which confirms it, and is much discussed, and we all realise he's a stupid f*** for taking the safe route and not investing more in for the potentially greater reward of everyone... Then it's forgotten again, and we get the same old cycle of "maybe we should actually be supporting him" bull because someone gets bored and thinks they're adding a new perspective on the matter.

Oh for crying out loud. I was just pointing out you made a hideous error, because you read what you wanted to respond to, not what I had physically written. Your opinion on the matter was not even contrary to mine. And yes, I do accept your apology <ok>

Ah you mean the money he has recouped against the interest free loans that he made to balance the early loses that were made over and above the debt that was inherited, those years when the club lost money each season and he had to advance millions to cover this prior to the last 3 years I think of annual accounts showing some profit for the club. You of course do realise that what you call investment in terms of Ashley would be as with Abramovic at Chelsea more interest free loans which would at some point either have to be paid back, written off or converted to equity, the equity conversion would of course mean a conversley higher asking price for the club as would trying to recoup additional loans as part of the sale price, of course I am just rambling on and have completely misconstrued your wonderful and enlightening prose, harmonious, symbiotic, consumer, sports franchise.............silly me football club and fans.

This could get all Pardew/Meyler or Sunderland 606 Board in no time. Is it because he is Blacker Than Knight that you don't like him JPF? Racist.

Why do people insist on saying that? Where has Mike Ashley ever said that? "Recouped against his interest free loans"... You love to hammer it about... Yet, that does not appear to be the case at all. He has the interest free loan, which I've already pointed out is actually paid in interest via SD advertisement, yet has never said the rate at which he is to be paid back. It could even be sold on with the club, as if it were a bank loan. I very much doubt you are so well acquainted with the deal that you could assure me and everyone else that the terms do not permit future financial benefit if the club is sold.

So all we know is he's taking money out of the club, investing little, not that it's paying off the loan. Any rationally minded individual would point out that had Ashley been taking a sizable chunk out of that loan, he'd not be keeping it in the dark. It would make no sense whatsoever, especially as it has been a bone of contention for fans for a very long time.

If it's his blackness which is making him labour on this very boring topic and adhere to a view that is only perpetrated by those with an incomprehensibly short-memory, then yes <ok> Though that'd be a very strange racial trait. Suppose they do have massive cocks, something had to offset that.

Essentially I've gathered that he's of only a slightly varying opinion to my own, and is only willing to post a response in an effort of oneupmanship because he failed to read one of my points correctly, and feels embarrassed because I pointed it out...

Following standard Mackem protocol. A challenge to fisticuffs is the only natural conclusion. That or a squibillion pound bet.

Or a squibillion pound bet you can beat him in a fight on your yacht in the South of France. Plus tickets to the World Cup final you have procured through your extensive contacts.

Na I don't do fists, far too much of a coward, much prefer a dark alley and an aluminium baseball bat, if I had a squibillion pounds you'd all be giving me grief instead of Ashley so no bet, unless ya want some toilet paper!

This was close to falling into e-scuffle territory. Thankfully, as no-one has the contracts Ashley drew up on beer mats from The Orange Tree pub, no-one can say for certain where we stand.

What I can't get me head around, JPF, is that you're adamant he's taking money out of the club over and above repayments for loans, or am I mis-reading that? I do appreciate there is no written, published repayment schedule and all we are told is that he is happy to have £111m owed to him (I don't understand the nature of this figure) and that he expects a 'final' repayment of £18m this Summer. The comment, and it's little more than that, is that Mike Ashley has no interest in taking any more money 'back' from the club once we reach this zenith.

It's a confusing state of affairs and I doubt anyone outside of his head can tell us what is going on. For instance, why not just round it back up to £150m interest-free and go spunk £31m on 3 top class players? So it's all very odd. However, no matter how odd it looks from the outside, for a man of his accumulated wealth and business acumen, there has to be logical reasoning behind it, yes? Is there sufficient financial gain in messing around with these figures, 'selling' the loan on, for example? This is a man who has never dabbled in finance - he owns, he pays outright, he cuts costs absolutely everywhere and has one finger in one pie - this isn't a man of multiple investments and ventures, he has one venture - Sports Direct - with a number of linked subsidiaries based on fashion, sportswear and other apparel. It's not like he's investing in Far East crops and India's booming micro-components industry. So the thought he would use something as small as Newcastle for relatively tiny financial gain is frankly stupid. Although we have to go on assumption, given what we know about Mike and how he's very much a one trick pony - albeit a very good, rich trick with SD - it follows that the most obvious/simplistic reason for having NUFC under him is the right one. With that in mind, it follows that he is using and always was using Newcastle United as an advertising vehicle for his empire. Like his purchases of the likes of Slazenger and Lilywhites, this was simply something to expand his empire, a business to be managed as a result of course, but an extension all the same.

I'm not sure many women would be keen on having Ashley's finger in their pie

With $5.5bn, by contrast I would guess there's not many pies he wouldn't be able to pay for.

Yes, he is very rich indeed. Newcastle United are now running at a tidy profit each year and increasing that wealth.

He won't invest in the club so his wealth is pretty much as pointless as him owning this football club <ok>

See, where is this kind of attitude going to get us?! He might/could invest in the club. It's possible, no matter how remote, and no-one can say 100% he will not put some investment in. Worst case, we've got to give the guy til' September 1st, or the days running up to it. If we're heading towards the end of the window with 1 or 2, then I would agree he'll have used up his last life.

He will 100% not put some investment in. There I have dispelled that theory.
