Can there be too much passion?

First off congratulations on having a real go at Wembley.
The point of the thread is to try and analyse the negative side of "passion" in football.
You could have sold 15-20,000 tickets for our match. This obviously shows a passionate following. Will this go against your best interests?
Many would argue that potential relegation far outweighs any FA cup success in the modern era in terms of finances and thus a clubs long term prospects.
I think Gus will have to field a full strength team to satisfy the wishes of your fans.If players are injured or get knackered you may increase the possibility of relegation.
Had we beat the Mags I am sure SB would have gone all out for a win on Sunday but losing has kept us in the danger zone.He may hold some players back.
Today the cup is a very jaded version of the glorious one you won against Leeds.I remember watching the final at a pals house with 8 others.I have not watched a cup final in its entirety for years.I used to watch the full days build up through to the winners being on the coach back to the hotel.
Just as some of our fans are proud to show their passion over the name change debate the real prize may seep away through the cracks
PS I passionately want to see City play at Wembley in a cup final

I suspect your question may have more to do with your own fear that SB's team selection, which is already restricted by some key players being cup tied, will not match your own passion for the cup!!
Do I think we will put out a full strength side, I'm not sure, but I trust Gus to make right decision!

We took the League Cup seriously and got to the final. Fantastic journey and well worth while. Blueprint for the FA Cup there, in a nutshell, for any team.

I can see where Jane is coming from, but I don't agree with it..In my opinion winning games breeds confidence and team spirit, so if we can beat Hull it will give us momentum going into the next League game..

I have supported sunderland all my life but I have forgotten how I felt during the many times we've been relegated. I once thought survival was all but I went to wembley and had one of the best days of my life..even though we lost. I wont forget it ever.
