I would like to see him sign an extension, so both fans and players will feel more settled. If he signs, we will know that in his opinion we are stable and continuing on the same path. I cannot imagine that Katharina has reservations about him...or at least enough reservations to take the risk on another manager. Please sort it out, KL.
I can't see him signing (or being offered) any kind of extension until the summer. He'll want to see continued commitment in the shape of investment from KL, and she will want to see that he intends to carry on.
He would want to see evidence of ongoing commitment ideally, but he has to find another job to risk asking to break his contract. Otherwise he might as well stay here for another season and then leave.
I think he will be here next season, but you can be sure the first decent team with a vacancy over the summer will be all over him after the recent upheaval to test his and KL's mettle on this.
Last year our plan B was Puncheon. Although, his final ball was sometimes lacking, he had a spell where he was really able to unsettle defences. Also, he played so well with Clyne and would willingly cover for him when required.
There may have been other reasons for his move, but still think it would be good to have Punch on the bench.
He lives around here so I can easily go egg his house when we lose. Also his niece is sort of hot but with a weird face. In case you were interested.
Someone at work showed me a really conclusive video that proved Iain Dowie is a reptilian shapeshifter, I guess it could run in the family...
