Don't know if it was picked up on TV but Harp's name was chanted quite a lot during the game, thought he might at least have been given a cameo role to to play.

Couldn't have let many more than 4 go in.

Agree with that. City were unusually sloppy in defence today. I thought your two man marking of Jelavic was a key feature in the first half too. No complaints from me. I've enjoyed all the Hull City v Newcastle games in the Premier League and it's the first time I've seen us lose, and I'm not counting an FA Cup win at SJP in that either.
Its not so very long ago when we visited SJP in the League Cup when you were top of the Prem and we were bottom of the FL, you won 3-0 and Gregor Rioch who was Hull captain led his team out for a lap of honour at the end. Embarressing.
As was your crowd when we won at SJP 2-1 on the last game of the season 92 ish ? 8,500.
Good away support for your lads though. What happens when you are at home? Don't you lot go ?

We average over 50,000 a game mate you may have got us mixed up with the Southern Geordies down the road.

I remember it well, but pretty sure the attendance was more like 17-18k. Clarkie scored for us. Doubled us that season, we were ****ing awful. We were mid table but the young'uns were blooded by Ossie in Thomo, Clarkie, Howey, Elliott and Watto. I remember one game where it did get pretty low. About 10k, I remember my dad saying "they are ripping the soul out of this place, its like a ****ing morgue!" We kept sinking the following year then a couple of chaps named Hall and Keegan decided enough was enough. Too late for my dad he stopped going before that season started. Missed all the good times after years of pain.

Everyone loved KK but my single biggest reason for loving the bloke was ending Mark Stimsons career. Never again did I have to watch such ****e. Well until Fumaca anyway.

Now we are one of the best supported in the land, could have been very different but for Hall and Keegan.

Sorry it's a bit late (i've been in London at a certain cup final), but well done on the win yesterday lads.

That was definitely (for me anyways) the worst we've played at home this season, we were the architects of our own downfall with those shocking defensive errors.

You definitely deserved to win, but as others said I do feel the score was a bit flattering (3-1 seemed about right). Despite us pulling one back at the best possible time, you always seemed comfortable.

On another day we could've easily scored 2 or 3 with the chances we had in the first half, but that's football.

No point talking about Pardew, enough has already been said. It overshadowed what was a fantastic performance from your lot which nobody seems to care about.

Good luck for the rest of the season, even though you haven't got much to worry about now. <ok>

EDIT: Should probably mention, I was at the COC as a neutral in the press box. Though I did have a few quid on Man City.

Yes, a lot of people thought Hall was just wanting to fill his boots, but bringing KK in was the start of a long and happy journey.

Always look forward to my visits to Newcastle. Proper football city. Stopped over there four or five years ago when we were playing Sunderland. Me and my mate were asked in a pub by a bloke 'Do you two fancy shagging me missus tonight? When we said no he said what the ****s up with her? In Hull we have to share everything with two rugby league clubs who think they have a rivalry like Celtic and Rangers. More like Torquay and Exeter.
I wouldn't want to be Pardews cat this weekend.

The team mascots warming up at Hull. They really seem to enjoy what they're doing.

I love the revisionist history. Hall's takeover bid started towards the end of the 1987-88 season - when United finished in 8th place in the old First Division. We were a mid-table side then, with a stable and patrician but unambitious board (like most clubs then). His hostile takeover bid, backed by the Chronicle and S & N, brought the club to its knees, leading to relegation and near bankruptcy. KK's appointment was a final desperate (remember KK had retired from football some 8 years earlier) roll of the dice. He struck lucky, and the combination of a resurgent club and the riches of PL/Sky meant he was able to suck huge amounts of money from the club. Hall should, of course, be congratulated for those great years (1992-96), he clearly had the vision to see that KK could galvanize the club like no one else, but he was responsible for the terrible few years preceding that (1988-92) and the de-democratisation of the club.
