The title might be slightly misleading but what I wanted to say was that, I've had a cracking weekend with some brilliant lads and lasses, met some cracking strangers and had some brilliant craic. On the pitch our lads did us proud and yes, we got beaten by a classy team of all stars who would take any team apart if they were on their game like they were yesterday. But, at least we didn't try to defend or play negative to frustrate city, we got at them and we played some good passing football of our own and for good spells we had them on the back foot.
After the inevitable massive come down and back to earth feeling, I can honestly hold my head high and it's great to be a mackem. Together, we did Sunderland proud and showed Gus what it would be like if he can resurrect the good times and get the numbers back up at the SOL.

Considering we lost a cup final on Sunday I was surprised that I just wasn't that upset. I think it was because the result was the only negative thing to come out of that day.
The positives however were many fold.
A team performance which showed they knew what this game meant to the fans! A manager who has us playing a style of football not seen since Reidy's second season. A reported 50'000 + Sunderland fans who followed their team in very harsh financial times and behaved impeccably despite the result. And the fans who watched the game in the same Durham pub as me who despite one idiot mag cheering on city, allowed him to leave unharmed and offered our team an ovation after final whistle.
On and not forgetting our mascot George!
Don't think I've ever felt this good after a such a loss! wtf?

It was the same against Charlton.
