I'll ignore the massively inaccurate stuff about him making us more efficient to make the question I'm asking clearer. I appreciate your direct response even if I disagree with it.

So if he decided to change his mind (yet again) you wouldn't just blindly follow him in doing so? It's actually your personal belief that fan consultation would be a bad idea? Not just because he says so?

And it's about 30% more than the 1400 that have signed up the club's official supporters group. So 30% more people oppose the name change than support Hull City <ok>

The bloke who I go to City with, who I've sat next to since the stadium opened, is vehemently against the name change, but the lazy bastard can't be arsed to go on the website and fill membership form in. The amount of people who have joined CTWD is an indication of how many people who are against the change and can be arsed to find a website and fill in a form, not the total amount of people who are against the name change.

The OSC has 1,500 members, if someone suggested that there were only 1,500 City fans, because that's how many had joined the OSC, you'd laugh at them.

Edit: <laugh> I see PLT just made the same point.

The 5,500 following CTWD on Facebook and the 6,400 following CTWD on Twitter are also a matter of record.

As are the 40 following Yes To Hull Tigers on Twitter. <laugh>

Hull City have 80,000 followers in twitter, does that mean they have 80,000 supporters?

Going by people saying you don't have to actually go to games to be a supporter, with views as relevant as those who go every week it could do?
Man Utd have millions of people described as supporters worldwide.

If you check the stats on the followers of our official sites, there are more followers in Cairo, than there are in Hull.

It must be rather worrying for the local media, Hull City having a direct line to their supporters.
Means the media can't put a their spin on a story, we'll just get the club's spin.

Of course he can change his mind. Flexibility is the key to success.

My personal belief is that a fan consultation is not required. It would serve no purpose. The fans never agree on anything, and are not the best people to run the club, Dr Allam is.

The fans are important, of course they are, but they did not save the club. They have not personally ploughed millions in to help achieve the success we're currently having. No, I am no saying the fans buying tickets, merchandise don't help, of course they do, but the bottom line is only one person stepped up in our darkest hour of need and did something magnificent for us and for Hull at his own, and his family's expense. Yes he's getting interest, but that money he's put in is not available to him and his family. Spin that however you want it, but he's gambled, the fans haven't, and that gives him the right to do what he thinks is best. if you disagree with his approach, its really simple. Get together enough money to buy him out.

Not sure how else I can make that clearer.

Play with the figures all you like, OLM too, fact is, less than 2k people think CTWD is important enough to spend 2 quid on. Thousands more do not.

I'm slightly bemused that you've either just claimed that 100% of the OSC oppose the name change or that only 400 people in the OSC opposed it versus 1400 that are for it.

Bottom line really is, hardly anyone really wants to join the OSC and hardly anyone really wants to join CTWD. Difference is the OSC doesn't try to claim any moral high ground or pretend its something other than what it is, whereas CTWD does, and yet still fails to get decent support.

I find it hard to believe you're laughing at the fact that seemingly, of 6k (rounded and probably the same people on FB as Twitter), over 4k don't actually think the message you're pushing out is worthy of 2 quid. How many of that 6k is actual fans do you guess? How many fans are actually Hull City fans? How many of those Hull City fans aren't that bothered to give you 2 quid?

There is no official Yes to Hull Tigers, there doesn't need to be, and tbh, I really can't be arsed explaining why that is again.

I follow all sorts of crap online I'm curious about but don't support, and considering the appalling low take up of membership, I'm surprised you thrust those figures out all proudly and laugh about them.

Oops ! Sorry Patty i missed this <laugh>

But anyway, to be serious now, all will be revealed shortly. And then we will all know where we stand.

I'm certain everyone will accept, and be pleased with the final word.

Barely any ****er supports a name change, you can spin that any way you like, it remains a fact.

People have launched Facebook and Twitter sites in support if AA and no bastard is interested.

You claim less than 2,000 paying members gives us no credibility, while at the same time claiming that people with no support at all, are in the majority.

Your argument holds no credibility, not with me and fortunately, not with the FA.

Unless AA holds a poll, the FA can only go on the information they have been supplied to date and that's a resounding rejection of a name change.

You think AA should not ask the fans what they think, that's fair enough, but unless he does, his application will be rejected.

Surely consultation is only one element of the presentation to the FA anyway? I doubt a decision either way would be decided solely on the vote?

If it is a vote, it'll be interesting to see the wording of it. If that's done wrong, it'll say more than no vote.

As I said earlier, I can only see this as the penny finally dropping that it's a daft idea. I just wish I had more faith in the FA. There decision process seems to be to seek out the least line of resistance.

RE the emboldened I've no idea what you're on about. Think you might have just misunderstood me?

Again I'm ignoring the factually inaccurate bits, I'm really just after your thoughts on fan consultation because I can't understand why one would be against something so obviously positive.

This bit of your post, makes no sense to me and is what I'm referring to:

If you read the name change discussion thread, you'll see CTWDers starting to question the validity of a poll, almost like they're getting in their excuses early, which is baffling but expected.

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

I don't see anything good coming out of a poll, regardless of which way the result goes. Its not like CTWD would be gracious in "victory" and that attitude would pretty much scupper any lines of communication between the fans and the owners.

If it goes the other way, would CTWD accept the result and stand down? Nope, they'd question the validity of the poll and carry on protesting. No winners there at all, so, what purpose would it serve other than to cause harm?

It might at least shut you up for a while. <laugh>

Should the campaign ultimately be successful, you can expect us to be very gracious.
