Come on, if the board allows rally cries of "get behind Pardew" (for shame), then I propose we get behind the owner. Forget Joe Kinnear, Dennis Wise, Sports Direct Arena, and so on - this is a man who simply runs with his instincts that have served him so well. He's a reclusive guy, not an extrovert, so trust for him is crucial - he is not one to employ on interviews and CV's, he will give positions to those whose judgement he trusts. Sure, his judgement calls have proven poor in some of the time he's been Newcastle owner, but has he really deliberately done anything to make the club worse than it is?

For a start, he backs Pardew - so for those two or three of you who do likewise, then you MUST share the love for the owner. Similarly those who don't like Pardew - just look at what he's tried to do to get him to walk, so he's on your side too. We're trading in the black, all the time, have the best first eleven we've had in years and are but a handful of players (and arguably a better manager) away from dining at the top table.

Besides which, he's now the 256th richest man IN THE FCKING WORLD!!!!!!! $5.5bn claim Forbes - time to show some love for the big fella and see what happens! He's only 100 places lower than Roman Abramovic, on a list that has Vincent Tan at a lowly 1,034th and doesn't even include Ellis Short!! Crikey, we want some ambition, but the guy's sitting there waiting for the opportunity - I say we show the World that we're no whingers, and that we'll support this club through thick and thin, so let's get behind the whole bally lot of 'em.

Did I mention how rich Ashley is?

Thank you. I'm partly serious, too!

I genuinely think actions like "Time4Change" are laughable. Anyone would think we were in crisis, when all anyone's really complaining about is that the young players we have don't seem either good enough, or trusted by the manager, and we're short two or three players. But they should ask themselves, if we did have a string of promising youngsters and were able to fork out for two International-class players per position, what would it then take to irk the 'fans'? All I think is if we had a few more players, there'd be a fair amount of whining that we weren't nearer fourth, before ludicrous comparisons were then drawn with us being ahead of Liverpool in the table as recently as 2002.

It would be so nice for everyone to wind their necks in and understand that we're more or less at the level we should be. True, I take issue with the manager as I find him limited, unless he has the strongest XI available, hence why I find it easy to support the board/Graham Carr as the best XI can bring in some cracking results. I don't believe any Geordie should be subjected to successive 3-0 defeats at home to poxy Sunderland. But then we shouldn't be winning at Old Trafford, White Hart Lane or beating Chelsea, so it's a rollercoaster. It would be nice if the fans could just accept it's a rollercoaster, take the ups with the downs and get behind the board, instead of deriding the owner for publishing positive financial results.

Time seems about right where people want to dig in behind the manager against a tide of media nonsense. I think we need to go one step further - if the fans are willing to stand beside Pardew, and the club - or Mike, if you will - showed absolute support for him within hours of the event, so it follows that the fans should also stand by the owner.

I am willing to stand behind Mike if you can promise me Sir Alan Pardew will be here until his dying breath as manager, or a least until England come calling. I am also willing to stand behind him in a storm with big **** off hailstones. The fat twat would make an excellent windbreak.

Ok, let's hold hands. From left to right, me, Mike, Alan and you. Then we can just get the whole Toon Army to link arms with us, forever after across the Geordie nation. And you neither have to face nor touch Ashley, whilst staying as close as you can be to ol' Pards.

The problem is, Mike Ashley could have been the best owner we've ever had, and we could be reaching our potential under him. His original plans were not too bad, and his execution of it wasn't so horrendous until recently, but his own stupidity destabilised the entire venture, and continues to do so.

He's creaming off the profits in the laziest and safest manner possible. The potential of our team before the last two windows could have been exploited for richer gains for everybody, but he's not done it.

And the lack of communication is just appalling. You can't run a business like that, never-mind a football club. It's too late Mike, we've seen your fat ugly fizzogg, you can't hide it and pretend to be some alluring mysterious billionaire now <laugh>

I've only just returned after years of constant baking/cooking the previous 606 Newcastle Cookery Book.

Go on then. What's your secret? A splash of worcester sauce in the hoops?

Hang on, hang on. No way on Earth was he going to usurp Sir John Hall as "best owner", not in the age of Oligarch's and Sheikh's. That just isn't going to happen; there's not enough soul in football to make it feel as good, no matter what we did, there was something totes emosh about the KK era.

But what Ashley is is the best owner besides Sir John. I mean, he's only up against McKeag, Westwood and Shepherd, so it's kinda like saying Pol Pot's not so bad, alongside Stalin, Hitler and Mao......

Look, he's not a communicator, get over it. At the very top of food chains, they rarely do communicate, or do you think the corporate world all works like The Apprentice?!

He's set up the club to have fans' forums, who else has done that? And don't say stupid things like "he's creaming off the profits" - the club owes the guy £129m, what he's taken back so far he gave up in the first place.

What I'm saying is let bygones be bygones. If you can tolerate Pardew, you should have easily enough in your system to accomodate Ashley. If for no other reason than to try and whore yourself out given he's now worth $5.5bn (did I mention his wealth?).

Actually yes, from a business point of view. He's a ruthless bastard but he knows retail inside out.
As a person I think he's a bit of a prick to be fair- and that is based on a good friend who works for him and told me how he sacked Allardyce and other senior SD staff from time to time.
The Allardyce story goes something like this....

MA walks onto their trading floor at SD HQ
Shouts to everyone to be quiet and get in a huddle around him
    He picks up the phone
Rings Allardyce and sacks him... bluntly telling him the lawyers will be in touch to sort the severance...
Puts the phone down and starts laughing his head off

We are 8th top of the premier we have a rich british owner. We have a cracking team with some good internationals.

He should be our hero he should be able to drink with the fans in the strawb.

He has dropped some right bollocks but he has done some good stuff.

Of course he's creaming off the profits... Just a matter of opinion to what extent. If he properly invested, the club would still be in profit and his gains could exponentially increase.

    X
No :( I was gonna say make sure the hoops don't boil over... Guess it's not that complex...

Is there anyone more deserving of sacking by Boiler Room than "Big Sam"? If you didn't support Ashley before, this should seal the deal.

Ok, I'll offer up even better terms for my Back The Owner campaign - you only have to do so, unquestioning, until 1st September and the close of the Summer transfer window. You can all reserve the right to cancel membership if the owner lets you down over the Summer transfer activity. Other disclaimers include the right to cancel if either Joe Kinnear or Dennis Wise are offered any form of employment by NUFC.
