So we have a manager head butting a player. He says he shouldn't have got involved and will sit down in future. Future so you have a future when you head butt a player and you are the manager of a massive club like Newcastle. Must try that on Monday at work and see if I have a future by Tuesday.

Why oh why does football live outside the real world. Nothing against the club or the man in fact quite the opposite re Newcastle as I worked up there for a while. Real soft spot for them. I would just sack him. Gross misconduct in front of thousands. Position of authority and no excuse. Yes and I would also have sacked TP for his flying head butt.

Anyway now to complete blindness. Wenger thought it was a harsh penalty. So a hand a foot or so over his head connects with the ball as the ball is being lifted over him. About as blatant as they come. Would it not be nice for once if any of them would just say yep blatant penalty. Instead he says nobody knows what hand ball is any more. Yes we do that was.

Excellent win. Deserved and now for Norwich and West Ham.some good points in those games and we will be in a sound position.

Quite right. I have not seen it as yet but if he has head butted the player he should not have a job on Monday! I know football is a different world but managers can not behave like that.

    Great Post Northern
    Hope you are keeping well?

As for today, Wenger is a tool of the highest order. Can't wait to see Pardew's head butt! I would ban him for life, and deduct NUFC 40pts what an idiot.
Oh and I was right behind Bego's goal, had a great view of the pen and it WAS a PEN, about 8 of us all shouted in unison.

Morning Northern, good to hear from you after too long an absence.

Yup...Pardew is a 'wrong un' . And he has 'history', both on and off the pitch. Player's wives at West Ham was hushed up.

He deserves more than a fine for what...a week's salary!

Sack him for breach of contract and the FA ban him from football for 10 years.
He would be virtually unemployable after that.

    Nick,

I don't think he would have to work again anyway, he must have been on a fair whack for the last few years and in his playing career, the sack and a public humiliation are the only things that would deflate that kind of ego.

Watched it last night and I know it's wrong but I had to have a laugh myself.. Pardew has as Nick say's loads of history before this. He's either stupid, plain daft or he cares less? The FA inho will hammer him for this. Anyone think that Pardew is actually bothered? Let's be honest he's probably a millionaire anyway. I would ban him from the game for life, and shut the idiot up once and for all. They would find another Manager in a week anyway.

It is supposed to be a debate , but all you posters are of one mind. Pardew should be hung , drawn and quartered. What about the other side of the story. The player first assaulted Pardew by pushing him violently in the chest. So I am giving the nod to Pardew this time. I say this time , because I know he has several misdemeanours on his cv. However ,

more importantly , what a bl***y great performance by the lads yesterday. Because of declining health and finances I can no longer be there in person , so I am restricted to catching glimpses on tv , and I cannot afford sky , and I don't trust computer links. So last nights motd gave me great pleasure. I know highlights , by definition , are the best bits , so the whole match was probably not quite as good. But of all of last night's offering , I thought The Potters were the best. And the best was very good ! The best I've seen for a long time.

I hope we can tuck in to another three points at Delia's place.

    Hope you have better times.

The game was better than MOTD showed. The analysis was good. It suggested that there was not much action but Stoke were the better side first half and were probing consistently. Stoke were in the ascendancy in the second half until we scored. The last 10 minutes we were defending and ArseNIL had NO shots on target. The Ozil shot across Bego had me concerned.

We were the better team and fully deserved 3 points!

After seeing it, I don't think the incident was as bad as it's been made out. Hardly a headbutt really, he squared up to the lad rather aggressively, and pushed his face into him, which it think he was rightly sent off for, but it was hardly an "assault". Given his previous, I think the fine and warning are an apt punishment, plus the fine and ban he'll get from the FA.

And agreed I think it was a penalty, but I wouldn't say it was a stone wall one, if it had been given against us I'd be saying it was very harsh.

I think the thing off me is that as a manager you can't do it - end of! At least he had his clothes on!

It was more of a headbutt than Fuller's on Pantsil a few years back against Fulham!
