Morning Everybody, Has the 1-1 draw at Loftus Road sealed our Championship status for another season? How many times this season have we conceded a goal just before half time? Why is this? Is it our work rate slackens off? Do the players lose focus? Does it have no relevance? Is it possible that a slightly higher work rate could have prevented that goal? I was hoping that having Wickham in the squad would have bought our wingers into play and we would have seen that they were half decent. How wrong can someone be? Isn't Kebe supposed to be on the wing. He was anywhere but the wing!!! What did everyone think of Wickhams debut? Can we expect him and McCormack to form a deadly up front partnership for the remainder of the season? Am I the only one that thinks Wickham looks a bit like X factors Rylan? please log in to view this image please log in to view this image I'm saying nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it worth Cellino and McDermott dipping their fingers in the emergency transfer window once again to bring in a decent defender, or should we just wait until the Summer (assuming the takeover is completed by then?)
Morning all. Saturdays result was ok. We can't afford to carry players in every game Ie steward and Kebe. Thought wick ham did great and unlucky not to score with shot the flashed past post with keeper well beaten. We lost ground again Saturday, now eight points of playoffs. Might as well get another loanee in and see what McD has in his locker but at this point his days are surely numbered. Just hope everything is settled in for the summer, prob new manager and hopefully at least eight new players worthy of wearing a Leeds shirt
Morning Eire, what is it about McDermotts lack of substitutions. We had to win. Mowatt bought on for Stewart on 69 mins. Brown bought on a few mins later. Byram bought on for Kebe on 95 mins!!!! Brown is a defensive midfielder. I thought McDermott was going out full attack!!! I'd like to see Byram start on the wing in place of Kebe.
Morning all. Kebe worked hard on Saturday, but didn't deliver much. Stewart at least go a few crossses in, but not much else. I'd like to se one or other start and then a midfield of the one that starts, Austin, Murphy, & either Mowatt or Byram depending on whether we need a R or L mdfield. If Byram doesn't start at RM, maybe he can play RB. Pleltier did okay, but he doesn't offer anything like the same threat going forward. I thought the Wickham/Ross partnership went well given that the only had a couple of training sessions together. Should be a real handful for the next match. Top 6 is still dooable, but only just.
Really beginning to worry about Byram. Few games here and there, few minutes in other matches. He is beginning to look injury prone. Really think if this season is as good as hell be, we should consider half decent offers in summer. If he needs surgery to sort problems, nows the time to consider it with five months till start of next season. Hopefully he comes good though
Morning all - I hate to say this but we weren't as good as everyone believes in the first half, QPR made us look better than we were. I am not saying we were bad, it was just that QPR never showed up for the first 45 minutes. In the end we were lucky to get a point after Hill strayed marginally offside. It is okay pressing for the ball when you haven't got it but you really cannot do that for 90 minutes unless your retention is good. We are not a slick passing side with players who move and run into space, we struggle to find a pass through midfield meaning we give the ball away too cheaply and meaning we have to then press the opposition more than we should, this means we will always tire in the second half. Wickham looked okay, can't say much as he didn't receive that much service, I get so frustrated with the manager, what does he see in Kebe that warrants him starting not alone playing the full 90 minutes that no other person can see? I still maintain McD will be sacked before the end of the season and the new guy in will have more deadwood to shift in Stewart, Hunt and a few others that we still have left over.
Absolutely agree. If its still his hip he needs this op now so he can be ready for next season. He's making zero impact nursing whatever he's got wrong with him. On the game, at this stage of the season that was definately 2 points dropped. They were there for the taking and we've even stopped their rot technically. I wanted a win as payback for redknapps comments after the tight reverse fixture earlier in the season where he said qpr deserved to win when frankly they didn't! Would love another loan. Jack collison supposedly on the radar. But he's out of contract at the end of season and I don't think he'd choose us over forest, who are also interested, as they have a better chance of promotion. Love it if I was wrong but hope Brian has other irons in the fire! Morning all
Morning all. Kebe was awful, Peltier needs shifting out, we need two wingers, a defender to partner Pierce and a playmaker in midfield. Other than that we have a brilliant set of players.
Morning All Agree with you Eire I'm starting to think that we have another Ben Parker on our hands. Get rid of Byram in the summer and let him be somebody else's problem. We've got no room to carry injury prone players through 4 or 5 seasons.
Morning all Kebe shouldnt get the nod again. He's adding nothing at all. Stewart looking slightly better. What happened to the kid we got from Southampton? Put him back in for another look he cant be worse! Looking forward to seeing Wickham settle in, Pearce had another good game he surely must be second to McCormack in performance terms this season? Anybody else knew Rosco would miss that penno (I know El did, he's 100 sheets up from it!) I'm just never confident he will put them away and when I saw his run up that was it for me, it was never going in!
Apparently there is a clause in the loan agreement that means we have to play Kebe. Don't know if that's true but it sounds logical, Palace want him playing games not sat on his arse. But does that mean we can send him back if we're not playing him and get someone else in before it's too late ?
Possible Wickersley. But I'm not sure how one club can dictate to another that they have to play. Either way, I'd quite like to see aniyibi play sometime soon. Kebe and Stewart aren't guaranteed a contract for next season. And whilst I'd like to see us with two wingers for the whole of the 14/15 campaign, winger input will have to be far better than it currently is.
That's what I was getting at Boggers. I'm assuming if Palace agree to pay part or most of his wages they might have the right to say he has to play while he's here. On the other hand, if we decide we don't want to play him on account of him being ****e, then do we not have the right to send him back ?
Probably we do Wicks, but not sure. Either way, both Kebe and Stewart nee to put much more of a shift in to justify their place. I also think that given Austin will have a lot of travelling this week, I'd start with Brown as DM on Saturday and bring Austin on with 10 or 15 minutes to go.
Supposedly there's a minimum time limit a loanee has to play whilst at a club or they get recalled by the parent club
