What does the Champions League have to do with Arsenal being the greatest side ENGLAND has ever seen? It just so happens that they ran into Ronaldinho's Barcelona in the semi-finals. That Arsenal side would walk the league. Anybody who claims otherwise is a complete ****ing idiot. WOAH WOAH WOAH. Are you saying the Arsenal of 2004 isn't as good as the Arsenal of today? Mate, get your carer to put you back into the mental asylum you came from.
I'd say that the 99 United side is the only one to get near the 04 Arsenal one. Says a lot that these teams were 10 and 15 years ago. Nobody in recent history gets close.
Wait a second, if Queenie is saying Arsenal's invincibles wouldn't be as good now because they were in a weaker Premiership, how can he then say United's treble winning side was better when they played, by his logic, in an even weaker league?
As the premier league gets better in quality season by season he must be referring to the 2012-13 United side as they were the last team to win the league?
What ? i cant understand that post. I was asking if you think the "invincibles" side would be as good in todays premier league How do you think they would deal with Man city etc.... Not quite sure what your are trying to say?
You said (and I quote, again) - "No, but would you say that the invincibles were better than the best Man Utd team ever...". Now, do you think that the Man United of "today's premier league" is better than the actual best ever United side of 99. Because if you do, I have bad news for you.
Okay, here it is in simple English, hopefully you'll understand: You suggested that Leicester had 'played against the best players THE PREMIERSHIP had to offer at the time. No comparrison with what is on offer now.', which is suggesting that they aren't as good anymore as the league has grown in overall quality. By that reckoning, the further back you go, the weaker the teams are. So, by that logic - Man Utd 98/99 < Arsenal 03/04 < Chelsea 08/09 < Man Utd 12/13
Absolute rubbish.. I asked if you thought the invincibles would be as succesfull (or how they would do) in todays premiership Are you saying to me that the standard hasnt improved as time goes by then? So by that reckoning the old Liverpool team of the 80's would still be competitive in todays league then? Do you or have you ever played football. if so do you think the standard of football has improved or got worse over the years? I cant wait to read your reply..this is going to be hillarious. Either agree or back track... good luck
Wait, wait, wait. So, in your opinion, Man Utd's current side is better than say, Real Madrid's 5 times European Cup winners? The total football Ajax of the 60s and 70s? The all conquering Bayern Munich of the 70s? Liverpool's European cup winning side of the late 70s/ early 80s? The dominant Juventus side of the mid 80s? The AC Milan side that won 3 out of 4 European Cups in the late 80s/early 90s? The Cruyff 'dream team' of Barcelona in the early 90s? Because, according to YOUR logic, that is exactly what you are saying.
NO AGAIN..I asking you if you think the standard and level of footbal has increased or decresed over the past 15 years...? Its a simple question without being specific to any clubs. Just answer it and stop avoiding the question Every season there will always be a "special" team at the moment its Barca, Bayern or Real...take them away and whats left is the general standard. So AGAIN..has that level risen or fallen over the past 15 years......we both know the answer..i just need you to [post it to completely contradict yourself Thanks
The overall level has improved, but you seem to be so blind to not understand that certain teams are of such a high quality they can still compete. But since you're blind to that you'll probably ignore it.
Best 2 teams I have ever watched (in English football) were the Man U team of the 60s with Best, Law, Charlton, Styles etc followed by the Spurs team of the early 60s with Greaves, Blanchflower etc. Unfortunately, I never saw the Busby babes play (cept on old footage). I appreciate that this was not the Premiership, and that half of both of those teams would probably be sent off in todays football. Just because it is now, doesn't mean it is better.
I'm currently playing catch-up, reading the overnight posts, but just got to... "Henry didn't exactly do much except score goals" Queenie, honestly That is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard! And then goes on to say "only one person going to look stupid and it ain't me"
Amen brother ... and there are far more 'athletes' playing in today's game ... which does not always lend to 'better football' ... crossing the ball seems to be a 'lost' art form ... I may be thinking back with rose tinted glasses but my recollection is that Lenny Glover (and John Farrington) rarely wasted crosses ...
Id agree with that gents. for myself i used to love watching the great Liverpool side with Steve highway, toshack, keegan & super sub Fairclough but I will openly accept that they would get murdered in todays Prem league the standard has risen so much. Thats all ive been trying to point out. As for the invincibles, Im not sure. from memory they had to beat Man Utd to win the league didnt they. Honestly not sure how they would perform in todays league. As for the henry comment, it was good wasnt it. i was going to slate Vierra by saying he wasnt that good and lived of Emanuel Petit, but thought they might sus me if i did...... have a good day guys
Still waiting for us to lose or crumble Queeny? I assume not more likely your attention is on the teams below you I think you will get in play offs and Forest to lose out that would be funny
