Yea I dont get it. The people you have in the mix for your national team all play in one of the best leagues in the world. Our national team basically has no one who plays in any league that isnt the MLS. Yet we are really not very far behind you and on a given day might beat you. Our team just seems to play more like a team. Think about how many goals Altidore scores for us yet he couldnt get a goal to save his life in the PL. I think it is a more complicated issue than the home grown player thing that you all talk about so much. Or maybe it isnt a complicated issue at all maybe you should pick the people who play well together instead of the best individuals, it is a team sport after all.
It's more disappointing that we had potentially the "golden generation" of England players, as the papers called it, including the likes of Beckham, Gerrard, Ferdinand, Lampard, Owen, all in their prime, and we were still ****e. That was when a lot of teams regarded us as a decent side. Now we're regarded as mediocre. Did the US woman's team win at the last Olympics in London?
London was 2012 right? If so then they won Gold. They have won gold in 1996, 2004, 2008, 2012. The won the 1991 and 1999 world cup. They have won 9 Algarve Cups. Their lowest ever ranking was 2nd. They are ok haha.

To be right, as much of an arsehole as Pardew undoubtedly is, it's neither summat nor nowt. I do find his defence funny, "I was just pushing him off with my head" I wonder if Dave Lee Travis could use a similar line "I was just pushing her off with my nob".
Hull City were lucky it wasn't Alex Bruce or we would have been light another central defender for several games.
