seen hollowman? Maybe he should get that plastic suit from Bacon. <laugh>

only way he would get his spot back is if he scores / assists atleast once every match from now on.

LOL. Me too; maybe at Carzola's expense?

No chance whilst Moyes is there. Won't make the Spain squad now.

Rooneys re signing has made it much harder for Mata. Playing behind Van Persie is the spot for Juan, but now Utd will have to keep playing Rooney there. Hope for Juan is that van Persie wises up and gets out.
Suspect Utd will bring in big signings including a Manager next year, they can't carry on like this. May be too late for Matas' World Cup dreams.

Del Bosque has always preferred Cazorla and he's playing more often and better than Mata at the moment.

Mata is defnitely better than Cazorla, but the latter is in better form at the moment. Moyes may end up ruining Mata unfortunately. Will be very gutting for him if he doesn't end up going to Brazil after he left us in order to ensure he can get into the Spain squad.

I hope his peak wasn't at Chelsea and he continues to develop as a player

It isn't unheard of for players to peak early but I think Mata isn't there yet. The problem is that he is definitely a 'luxury' player and has to be given total freedom to be at the top of his game. In todays modern game there aren't too many teams that can afford him that. You have to build a team around him which could entail a lot of buying of the right players.
It's easy to see now with the progress of Willian that he wasn't right for Jose.

Mata was just starting to break through a starting place in the spanish national squad until this season... Didn't he start the confederations final?

He's better than Cazorla but seems to be Del Bosque's go-to player when his favourites aren't involved. Cazorla simply doesn't possess the ability in front of goal or vision of Mata despite him being better with both feet and being stronger on the ball. I'd take Silva over both of them mind, but I'm a fan of all three.

Whatever people think of Mata, in my opinion he will win you games. Still think Jose was too rigid in his judgement, but being pragmatic, he had to be sold for the price we got. Man Utd will be a turmoil for Juan for another year until Moyes either steps up or steps out.

he only joined us 2 months ago to be fair, if i was Torres, i would be worried about my place in the Spain squad for the world cup.
