After recovering from a long illness Rocky returns to the action for the first time in six months, with a trip to an Essex seaside resort where the resurgent Chairboys are looking to for their first league double of the season, without captain StuLew hamstring and Styche international call up, Matt McClure will need to be assessed after falling ill on the trip to Exeter on Tuesday, Deano may start and new signing Aaron Pierre goes straight into the squad. The two teams go into this game at different ends of the table but itâs not that clear cut as this year the Shrimpers have accumulated only one more point than ourselves and not having won since mid January Iâm expecting a close game with the defences on top, but who knows Rocky could make the difference. Keeping the faith.
And Doherty out as well, it looks like a very weakened side. Deano probably won't be fit and, if he is, I can't see him lasting 90 mins. Hopefully the on loan defender will fit in well.
i have been in training tonight for tomorrows game ............. a few beers and a couple of rums and i am now ready guy .
should be fun col u are at leyton orient and will be at liverpool st station about the same time as us
A good point keeps us 5pts above Northampton with games going & another team between us & Northampton
For the first time in 3 months the weather allowed us to play today so didn't follow the game but very happy with a point. It's still tight down there.
1-1 probably about right. A quiet first half with blues in control for the first 35 mins or so but then Southend stepped it up towards half-time and Corr had a goal disallowed for offside and Ingram made a good save low to his left. Although Wycombe were comfortable they weren't offering much up front. They didn't learn their lesson and after 65 mins or so Corr had another free header and put the shrimpers ahead. Morgan and PCH came on for Craig and Arnold and upped the tempo. Great shot from PCH which hit the bar but trickled in off the back of the keeper. Southend put the pressure on but didn't look like scoring while Morgan, PCH and Kuffor, when he came on late, looked dangerous. However, Blues were happy with a point and probably deserved it as well.
