But that doesn't make sense, unless the sole measure of his ability with the language is his knowledge of pointless bromides that can be repeated in front of bored journos. The important bit of communication is between the people who are important...the players, the coaches, the manager. By all accounts, he does that well. I wouldn't care if a manager was an Eton-educated orator who chose to do nothing but yodel through interviews, for that matter.
Abuse? I called him "crap" and "poor". Not exactly going to need his lawyers for that, is he? I agree the other forwards didn't do much either, but that wasn't my point.
Don't want to pick a fight, but I thought Ramirez did his best today, yes, he lost the ball on a number of occasions, but that was when he had no one to pass it to, our usual fluid movement into space was absent in the second half, it was difficult to get the ball to anyone in space, and I agree with someone else, this wasn't a great game from Spider, he was far too static and mostly passing backwards or sideways rather than forwards, but maybe that was because Rodgers had done his homework on potential threats, certainly in the 2nd half Lalla was man marked out of the game, that should have created opportunities for others, but somehow we missed the trick. We also should have taken more attacks down the right flank as we were up against a right back playing at left back. As good as Chambers was he didn't overlap much. It was still the fact that we couldn't finish that lost us the game, you could hardly lay the blame for that on Gaston.
I thought in the first half, Southampton were pretty unlucky, a slip led to Liverpool's 1st goal and then the goalpost and an excellent save kept the score at 1-0 when 1-1 would have been a fair score.
Yep fair point, perhaps I was harsh on him, I just got this feeling that he'd given up on learning English because he was off in the summer. As I said before I wasn't trying to be nasty it just seemed odd to me that he was still using an interpreter, which led to me thinking that. I'm more pissed off that no-one noticed that I worked in a joke involving Freddy.
Good try but I think the Freddy jokes have all been played out ad nauseum. Will you be inspired at Chesterfield on Monday?
Yes we do care for your opinion, that is what it is all about, but we don't have to agree with it, that's down to our choice, if I agreed with you we may well both be wrong. If I disagree one of us will be wrong.
It wasn't designed to be twisted, it is something that happened later, lots of theories, but it is difficult which one to believe. Chesterfield are a very good side, if you get anything out of them you really will have bragging rights this week-end.
Just put him on ignore. His cinicism contributes nothing to this furum. And for future reference please don't quote him so I don't have to read the same repetitive crap after every match.
Even if Pochettino has made up his mind about leaving, it really doesn't make much sense that he would just start phoning it in. Pochettino is still very much unproven. If Saints were to have a terrible second half of the season, it wouldn't exactly help his job prospects. He will be seen as manager who can't handle the big-time pressure or a one-trick pony whose teams are useless once teams know his tactics. If he's trying to leave, the way Saints finish the season is more crucial for him than if he stays.
And it was going so well When I left last night, you were all being brave little soldiers and taking it on the chin, then all hell let loose. It's like a Mum getting up in the morning and finding the toddlers had trashed the lounge.
Well, he did nothing. Apart from getting booked and giving the ball away virtually very touch. I thought I'd start a count but I gave up. I did note 2 completed passes. But really, he did nothing, whereas Cork was our controlling midfielder, Wanyama was totally anonymous. BUT, I was in the pub after the game and saying how poor I thought Lambert was and my mate said that it wasn't his fault, that me made good runs but didn't get the ball. He blamed the midfield. So, whereas I thought Cork played really well, he thought Cork was partly to blame for our typically slow approach play. Interesting. Then there is the enigma that is Ramirez. He came on and for 10 minutes he looked like a world beater. And then, gradually, you began to see how he actually has a negative impact on the side. Firstly, when he has the ball he actually tries too hard. He always wants to take players on or make the killer pass when sometimes an easy pass is the best option. But at least he is trying. But its when he doesn't have the ball that his weaknesses show. For most of the first half we dominated a decent Liverpool team and but for better finishing we could have been 2 up. But that midfield control was lost when Davis went off and Ramirez came on. After that I felt that the result was inevitable. When all is said and done, the difference was Suarez. Who was superb when he needed to be.
Not sure how Ramirez is getting so much stick here, he came on when we were chasing the game and, initially, we were on top and looked like we would equalise. We needed a goal, and I think we would be more likely to have got one through Ramirez than Davis. Personally, I thought Lovren had a shocker by his standards, so would be more deserving of criticism.
Strange there are that little criticisme on defence in this match. Specially the central pairing had at least a very bad second halve. The second goal was a big fault from Lovren (exacly the same as yosida did in the game against Aston Villa - and he was slaughtered for that fault....) First and third goal were faults from Lovren and Fonte together. Looks like they are allowed to play a bad game.
A big game for Lovren to return to...confident he will get better. However, in general, our defence is nowhere near as effective as at the beginning of the season. Although you can point to individual errors, is it more that the team as a whole are struggling? It was always said that the first line of defence was Lambert. The team initially were full of confidence and worked as a unit in defence, then turning rapidly into attack. We took teams by surprise and (thank God) got early points on the board. Confidence needs to be restored...we are still playing well...just need those shots to go in and those saves made. Things can be decided by small margins.
