More away fans showing colours and goading home fans while stewards and police do nowt. Disappointing from the club, the SMC and the Police. Still owt for an easy life, eh? Contrast that with the heavy handed ejection of the fans last Monday night who went on after the BHA game had finished to congratulate the players. Does anyone have any idea which rules are enforced and which are not at the KC? Or does it depend on which team you support?
Thought it was disgusting that no action was taken against these ****ers, either kick em out or kick em in
I get the impression that there is no one at the club who cares about these things. Half time giant beachball competitions trump club shop merchandise. They think Amber and Roary will create the fortress mentality we need at this level. I don't see much evidence of the heart and soul of Hull City these days.
There's only so much a club can do to stop them getting hold of tickets, in fact I would say it was virtually impossible to stop some of them getting in. However more should be done when they are discovered. The home fans around them need to be more vocal, create a scene so the stewards have to respond and remove the away fans.
They shouldn't be there full stop. Any away fan caught in the home end should be banned for three years for inciting violence. It'd soon stop it and I know some will say how do you establish who is an away supporter? Half the ****s are wearing colours.
A few Newcastle fans were sat in front of me in the West Stand too. I had no idea they were until they went completely insane when they scored their first. I wouldn't mind them being their too much if they'd have just refrained from overly celebrating.
A couple of us pointed out to a supervisor of stewards that there were away supporters in the North Stand. After a long 'discussion' he did nothing. Waste of time.
I was sat in the North West corner with my son and we were surrounded by about 20 Newcastle fans. In fairness I didn't notice this until they scored their first - then it became obvious because they were the ones celebrating (literally). They did the same (but more enthusiatically presumeably because no one bothered them the first time) for the second and still nothing by the stewards. By the third goal they were literally jumping up and down and when I looked at what were by then eight stewards stood directly below them; they were making a point of looking the other way. In fairness none of these fans created any trouble and they just watched the match and supported their team without bothering anyone (other than it increasing the annoyance when Newcastle scored) but it could easily have been different. No fan needed to bring this to anyones attention it was blatant that they were there and blatant that the stewards weren't bothered about it.
As I mentioned after the Chelsea match I sent an email of complaint to the club about the same thing. I did not even get an acknowledgement let alone an apology. What does that say about the club's stance?
There are plenty of people from Newcastle area living and working locally so they can get tickets for there without too much effort. Why doesn't the club make a stand on this? 'No visiting supporters allowed in this section. Penalty of £1000 and 5 year national stadium ban for any people found in breach of this law.' Instruct the police and stewards accordingly so that transgressors wearing colours are stopped going in. If the present situation continues, local toughs will start going in that section knowing they have right on their side should any beef commence.
The club can sell tickets by mistake. On match day its down to the stewards to enforce stadium rules. These rules are enforced on home supporters like a totalitarian regime. As Blamps says only last monday night they clamped down on 4 young lads for nothing worse than over enthusiasm on the final whistle, what happens if we go on the pitch next Sunday when we've booked our trip to wembley? These rules are completely bent when it comes to away supporters. If they show themselves in the home stands when the away team scores they should be ejected. No double standards. If its down to home fans to create a scene about it then the stewards are not in control, define creating a scene, if you did that you are putting yourself at risk of ejection. If its tolerated than word will go out its accepted and we lose more seats, eg Man City fans next desperate to see their team. We sell out most home games, our stadium capacity isn't big enough for more away fans anyway.
What a shame we don't have more police presence in that stand. What we could do with is a state of the art police surveillance room with cctv monitoring and a clear view of the ground particularly the north stand, manned by lots of trained officers using binoculars. Oh......
Perhaps, this needs to be documented and passed to the relevant. If anything ever does kick off, then for what it is worth, the club has been warned. Maybe, this is what it would take, a major incident to occur.
Like a lot people, I've been in the home end at away fixtures quite a few times. Even been in the away end at BP a few times too. Out of respect (and self preservation to a degree) I've always kept a lid on things and have never worn colours.
Doesn't surprise me one bit. Keep the email, for future reference. Perhaps the police and local media need to be sent similair complaints too.
It's required for fans to be segregated, you may agree or disagree with the rule, but who at the KC made it optional?
Not sure how stringent the rules are applied, but is it possible that the club could be fined if it was found to be blatantly ignoring these rules?
