I'm surprised John Hawley hasn't got a mention from some of the older posters.

Windass for firing us into PL with his volley.

Ian Ashbee, captain, leader and all round top bloke and Billy Whitehurst because Billy was just Billy, still makes me smile when I think about him.

Good thread, we really have had some top lads wearing the black and amber over the years.

I really could not pick my favourites but just to mention a couple of different players...

Alex Dyer - wasn't with us long but he caught my eye in my first game at Boothferry as a kid.
Linton Brown - for the outrageous handball before scoring when we beat Crewe 7-1 in '94

Frizzy hair in an era of feather-cut centre-partings.

    Local larker too.

I think Duane Darby was my first City hero as a kid, but I have to agree with Macca on Elliott being the best of my generation. He could hang in the air for ages when meeting crosses, and I still stand by that Ronaldo learnt that technique of him. From that video, I never gave him deserved credit for how often he beat keepers at their near post.
    A few other mentions...

    Danny Allsopp
    Ben Burgess
    Keates
    Delaney
    Deano
    Fettis
    Green
    Geo
    Cort
    Ash
    Pricey

    Edit:
I can't believe I missed Dawson and Jon Parkin off.

Windass Ashbee Dawson Barmby Elliot Whittle with Deano first and then any order. Quite a few in the present squad, i'd have to say Rosie for his perfect professionalism and all round great blokeness <ok>
