I don't think there will be any great changes to formation and style at this stage of proceedings but I really get the feeling that Gus is going to spring a selection surprise up on Sunday for the starting 11 at least. I think that he realises that we need a better cutting edge up top and the second half showed both him and us that Borini is a far better option. Oh, and Giacherinni scored a 20 year beauty as well. I think he may go with this team and subs bench, which has to have as many attacking options as possible for me with one defensive one. Mannone Bardo, JOS, Brown, Alonso Catts, Colback Giacherinni, Ki, Johnson Borini Ustari, Vergini or Celustka, Gardner, Larsson, Fletcher, Altidore, Scocco
I could live with that kidda but not sure how fit Fletcher will be? He may be a better option as a powerful impact sub in the second half. Mind you, I'd love to hear a bit of "he scores when he wants" echoing around the stadium on Sunday..........twice.
I have been informed by gus that ki is not playing, reckon his head has been turned by Man U P/s was really a girl from RTG forum who said he is not playing
Same team as last week with the exception of Vergini and Briductt going out for Brown and Catts That or Borini up top, I'd go with Borini through the middle and Giacc on the left. If Borini does stay on the wing I hope it's Altidore starting
Same team for me Cest but different set up, think we'd inside forwards rather than winger, crosses from the touch line are no good for borini, and Citiehs fullbacks are no mugs. I fear with wing well be restricted to these kinds of crosses. Plus I hate straight lines across formation. I've gone for a more structured formation to eliminate space between the lines. Mannone JoS-----------Brown Bardo---------------------------Alonso Catts Ki---Colback Johnson------------Giacc Borini
That is our strongest possible lineup with the squad we've got in my opinion. Hope this is how we line up!
Johnson and 1-0 I have been informed is 225/1 with Paddy Power? I'm having a couple of quid on that and 14/1 for Borini as the last goalscorer.
This team I believe for this game is our best we can put out for this game. It has pace and movement which we will need against Citeh because we have to get out of our own half. Putting Borini up the middle is a goal threat where as Altidores inclusion can't be justified on that basis. For a big guy he doesn't win many balls in the air so lets try to play carpet football and try to turn Kompany and co at the back. It's hopefully a great opportunity for Giac...he is a big time player and the vibes coming from Gus is that is what he is looking for. Players who have done it and got the t shirt. In my humble opinion Catts is going to be our man to get us where we need to be....but I know what everyone will be thinking...got to keep 11 players on the pitch. So Catts it's showtime.....you will be in amongst Toure and the boys...show them who is the boss!!!! Ha ways the lads all the way from LA
I was at arsenal and I have beem patient upto now with altidore but after that performance he should be the one at Leeds not wickem
How about this team tomorrow: Montgomery Malone Watson Pitt Guthrie Kerr Horswill Porterfield Hughes Halom Tueart With Gus watching the game in a trilby
