National Hunt racing comes from Doncaster and Newbury whilst we have the AW racing at Lingfield, Wolverhampton and Dundalk.

The AW meetings appear somewhat underwhelming but there are a few I could fancy on the NH.

    Newbury
13.45 Cherry Tiger (purely on pedigree) in what looks a weak contest
14.20 Boogie In The Barn. Another one I like on pedigree but this one also has some decent form
    14.50 Umberto D'olivate
    15.25 Perfect Candidate

    Doncaster
    16.20 Koolala (Nap)

First a warning. You will get very poor very quickly taking on Nicky Henderson youngsters on the upgrade!

A few weeks back I put up an Emma Lavelle horse on here that had been very well touted at home. It got stuffed out of sight by a Jeremy Scott youngster called BOOGIE IN THE BARN. BOOGIE IN THE BARN tugged Scholfields arms out pretty much the whole way round, appeared to idle when challenged for the lead two out but then sauntered clear from what looked a good field after the last.
What makes this a lot more interesting is that next time out the Lavelle horse, ALBERT BRIDGE, absolutely hosed up next time out. Furthermore the second horse, HOT WHISKEY N ICE, appeared at Fontwell on Saturday and a shade cosily saw off Howlongisafoot and Brave Vic.
Only these two have run from that race but I think it will stack up as a very decent marker.
Jeremy Scott is a very good handler and we know he gets some decent horses (Melodic Rendezvous) and I think this one will go on to better things. No easy task giving six pounds to what looks a decent Henderson horse but if the tissue 3/1 is right then I think this one is worthy of a pretty decent punt!

BOOGIE IN THE BARN 2:20 Newbury tissue 3/1

(Paul, the "tissue" is the starting price guesstimated by the trade press)

    7.05 Wolverhampton - Nautilus -8/1

Should be able to make advantage of a small break off the track not the strongest race and has it his locker to win this off a lowish mark plus stable have a decent record at the track

It seems we are tilting at windmills with the Foxtrot horse that I am involved with. He is due to get an early entry in the Super Sprint at Newbury. Crikey, how nice would it be to have a horse good enough to run in that heat, we can but dream I guess!! Off to see him (Foxtrot Knight) at the end of next month, sure will be a far cry from those big steeplechasers that I will see at the festival a week earlier!!

Nothing of interest to me today, perhaps I might have a dabble in the Grimthorpe if the ground is ok. Trust we are all well?

Living the life should take the 410 still 5/2 in places but the market is showing the signs now

Midnight feast shoul beat the field in the last 3s earlier now max 2s claimer brown looks like the only way midnight can lose, but he is fast becoming a good jockey and should only improve his credentials here.

1 huzzah - furthest traveled 9f today12f to much to risk on a favourite
2 majiz - respectable times to distance
3 grandlinquent - good times to distance but never settles here
4 fair breeze - good times to distance settled well last time out
5 rockweiller - may be to far
6 compton silver - not done distance
7 the right time - looks a good hurdler not sand rat
8 sir lexington - yet to find an ultimate distance and I dont think it is 12f
9 well owd man - light as a feather but this probrably wont be enough to beat fair breeze.
    win bet fair breeze

Well done uncle and RB. Bad day at the office for me. My nap seemed a bit reluctant jumping early on and was out at the back. Managed to run on to get second, beaten 1l. Should win a similar event, even without improving her jumping. Apparently the winner ran a personal best. Had to be against mine of course. <laugh>
