The FA has appointed Aidy Boothroyd as a national coach. Boothroyd will report into England Under-21s head coach Gareth Southgate and The FAâs director of elite development Dan Ashworth, taking up the role with immediate effect. His first assignment will be to join up with Noel Blakeâs U19s side as they prepare to take on Turkey in Chester this Wednesday. http://www.thefa.com/news/england/d...-as-national-coach-280214#h6xFWb7e39vzzyMx.99
James Masters ‏@Masters_JamesD How do you reward dismal failure in League Two? You give the man the England under-20 job...another mind boggling decision by the FA.
Oh dear. How can he develop young players when he plays the worse style of football that can be imagined. I'm sure it'll develop our young players lumping balls into the corners and asking a 6ft 3 centre forward to chase them down.
I was sure you'd missed the word 'Driver' from the end of your thread title. National Coach Driver would be a far more appropriate position for Aidy.
After all the doom and gloom surrounding the recent England squad and the general state on the national game there is light at the end of the tunnel. Aidy Boothroyd has been named a national coach by the FA. He's going to coach the U19's. The new golden era is on the horizon.
The just need to hire Dowie and then we'll be unstoppable, with Cleverley at the heart of midfield and Smalling captaining the side....
There was a thread a while back about another coach the FA had appointed who was so anti football and pro route one it was frightening. And now this. Who makes these decisions?
Just goes to show how badly our "golden generation", with the likes of Owen, Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand, Scholes (plus loads more in their prime), failed. They were woeful and now we're left with this ****e.
WTF ? The FA really do sink to new lows and move from one disaster to another. Utter madness but typical of our clueless FA. England really do need a root and branch overhaul from top to bottom.
