Suspect it was the E/W bit he was objecting to Archers..! Absolutely agree that 7/2 would be a cracking price.

Not sure how to interpret this. For example, if the distances are (say) 15l, 7l and he finishes 4l further back in 4th, has he finished within 10l of the first 3? I would say not; he will have finished within 10l of the 3rd. If the distances were 20l and 15l and he finishes 2nd, he won't have finished within 10l of the winner or the third.
