You were talking about not getting large followings midweek. Sad to think there are so many more people willing to travel to Liverpool for a meaningless match than there are for one that matters. Of course this explains the lack of passion and atmosphere at the KC as so many are there to watch the other team.
They weren't getting that many. Their all time record average is 14,300 which was about 5 seasons ago at the KC. Of course the season yourefer to was the one where they won every game. It was thefirst season they altered the points for a dropped goal two to one. Something you could always use to catch out those who reckoned they had been going for years when they got to Wembley and were winning things.
That's a good point and one that I had considered - Sunlan are still gonna be on 24 points on 15th March albeit with 3 games in hand. Depending on how other results go they could be well entrenched in the bottom 3 by this date. Are they still gonna go full tilt against us, or is this a typical example of good cup runs potentially interfering with premier league status?
True but maybe it will act as a cattle prod and wake up the Hull City fans for a change. No sandwiches in parts of the west stand until you make much noise would be nice. As long as he takes one with him. 10 v 10 would be ok. No chance of Cattermole starting then. Lol.
And because we had never been in the top flight before 2008 we have that generation of ****s who can't stand not "supporting" a Premier League team so they decide to call themselves Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea fans.
Tigers boss Steve Bruce may never top any popularity contests on Wearside after the Geordie’s reign as Sunderland manager. But the former Black Cats boss has made a couple of fans’ dreams come true by handing over a pair of tickets for this weekend’s Capital One Cup final. Bruce was given two tickets by his current employers for this weekend’s show-piece event at Wembley. But he sent the tickets up to Wearside with a request they be given to Sunderland fans desperate to go, according to the Hartlepool Mail. Nice gesture from Steve Bruce considering the abuse he gets from them.
Not all of them. Even Sunderland have some good fans. Well done Brucie, grand jesture. The sofa and cuppa is best.
I would have thought it will be something similar to what we fielded against Southampton. We made 9 changes, No development players, but squad players who get less playing time.
From a minority. Maybe you could read the thread on our board and see there's folk on both sides of the fence before you tar us all with the same brush. This is despite the many interviews where he's blamed us fans, tarring us all with the same brush just like you've just done. Ignorance will only ever impress the ignorant you know?
In his post match interview against Brighton, he did basically say that he didn't want to talk about Sunderland this time. I would provide a link, but the club haven't put his interview up for some reason.
To be fair - (i) It was on TV (ii) Local public transport was suspended all day that day (those who have been to the SOL will be familiar with the metro system) (iii) Poyet came out in the week to explicitly say that he would be playing a reserve team and would "rather lose than draw" (iv) 30-odd thousand of us had already shelled out hundred on Wembley ticket/travel/accomodation for this weekend. It was a "perfect storm" for a low attendance.
Should have been saying that the whole time. Still like the bloke, he's a very likeable bloke, but I don't think of him anyway in the same light as I used to. To be fair he's not been as bad since he joined Hull, though what he has said I thought to be a bit disrespectful of you guys, but he was in the press regular before he joined you guys. He's said he's board of the Sunderland questions. I've been board with it for a long long time. I'm glad he's decided to let it go as like I said he's a top bloke who was letting himself down with every interview he mentioned us in.
