We have both Jake Jervis & Michael Drennan playing, presumably up front together. No Andy Barcham, because his wife/partner is expecting an arrival at any time. Still no Simon Ferry.

We must lift our game tonight, defeat is not an option.

0-0 at half time. Both Padovani and Jervis booked for their first fouls, according to the BBC Sports site.

We need an inspirational team talk from RB during the break to lift the players.

    Here's hoping.......

From what I've heard, I'm not sure he's capable of one.

    Wait, maybe he is.

1-0 up !! Goal from Jake Jervis in the 51st. minute. 35 yard shot.

    That's more like it.

No don't just sit back on the lead, go for the killer second goal.

Daniel Alfei hits the crossbar with a brilliant shot.

Therry Racon on for Michael Drennan due to injury.

90 minutes up, with 3 minutes of time added on.

    Hang on in there Pompey......

Yay we won. Surprise surprise we had two shots on target. Other results didn't go for us but tbh I'd rather see Accrington go down than Northampton.

    Final whistle..........1-0 win <party><party><party>

3 extremely valuable points. That win lifts us up 4 places to 18th in the table - the daft thing is, we are only 4 points off of 9th place. How crazy is that ?!

Relieved, but honestly why can't we score more than 1 goal in a match?

Agree, cant see us getting anything against Chesterfield, 1898.

Should get 3 points hopefully against Cheltenham though.

Hope Joe Devera is soon fit enough to return, in place of N'Gala - commentators were saying he wasn't very convincing tonight.

N'gala had a pretty decent game. One near clanger but he just about recovered. Fogden was immense tonight the lad has bags of energy and seems to love a tackle when the crowds behind him!
Also drennan is stand out class potential at this level. Strong lad as well could make a difference for us.
Think him and Taylor will work well when he's back.

Call me a pessimist, but I'm keeping my feet firmly on the ground and I expect a hammering at Chesterfield. I'm just glad there's only two relegation spots from League 2.

    Just got back.

    Good game, scrappy, but good.

Holmes didn't stop running and Drennan worked like a trojan.

Bloke behind me hates Padovani and was giving him grief all game.

Back four were good - solid at last although Carson had a few saves to make, but they were easy.

We had a number of shots, just couldn't get them in the net.

Second half was better than the first half but the goal was scored early on so the players were feeling more positive.

Didn't get the feeling that Accy would even the scores, but they were plucky.
