QUOTE AC Milan willing to pay over £5m to sign Adel Taarabt on permanent deal Form: Taarabt is enjoying life in Italy AC Milan are already planning to turn Adel Taarabt’s loan from QPR into a permanent move in the summer and are willing to pay in excess of £5m for his signature. Taarabt has made a big impression since joining the Italian giants last month, scoring two goals in four appearances. The 24-year-old’s form has been all the more surprising having struggled to make much of an impact in the first half of this season while he was on loan at Fulham. QPR signed the Moroccan international from Tottenham in 2010 and will consider whether to recall him to the squad should they win promotion back to the Premier League. But Taarabt, who saw a move to Paris Saint Germain fall through in 2011, is already loving life at the San Siro and is keen to make the switch. Only last week, he said: “I'm happy to have bounced back at AC Milan. It has been a dream for me. “When I signed here, I always said that I had faith in my qualities, and that I thought I was up to playing for AC Milan. It's true that people were surprised because I wasn't playing at Fulham. “I have spent here the best 10 days of my career. I have played in a wonderful stadium like that at Napoli. Then, at home to Bologna in another magnificent stadium. And then on Wednesday I played my first match in the Champions League (against Atletico Madrid).” UNQUOTE £5m for a fruitcake so take the money and run - or a clear undervaluation by the Italian Club? What should TF and the board do if the offer becomes formal?
Stick or twist? Set something up now, on the grounds that this bit of form may be temporary, or wait until the end of the season when the value may be much higher? Sadly, one thing I am sure of, having tasted the rich meat of a genuine super club, Adel ain't coming back the Shepherd's Bush, whatever league we are in.
Seriously if QPR let him go for 5m I would begin to lose interest and faith in the club. However unlikely I would do everything to keep him including replacing the manager ... that also includes Remy, Granero and Mbia These four players under a new manager would come good they are all excellent players. I would also buy BAE and after the WC Cesar stays also
I think we have to give Spuds a big chunk of any fee as well, there was a big sell on clause like 40 or 60% or something stupid I think!
As Stan says, Adel won't come back to us now. Although most of us felt he had the capability, Adel has found it difficult to find form at the top level in English football. He's finding it in Italy, but will it last? A difficult commercial decision for the board if an offer comes in
Got to agree with DT here, £5m is not enough for Taarabt. I'm not particularly disappointed he's not at the club anymore, however, he is exceptionally talented and (going by transfers last summer) you can't tell me that the following players are all worth at least DOUBLE what is suggested here: Bony, Aubermayang, Emenike, Medel, Diarra, Samba, Matra, Capoue, Mignolet, Boateng, Lovren, Van Wolfswinkel, Altidore. And that's just a list of those valued at â¬10 - â¬14m, there are even worse names on the â¬5 - â¬10m list. This has annoyed me for as long as I can remember, going back to when we sold Ferdinand, Sinton, Sinclair etc, I've always felt we let players go too cheaply. How much did we get for Sterling, £500,000 plus a few add-ons? Compare that to Walcott (£12.5m) and Oxlade-Chamberlain (£15m) who were similarly rated and playing for a team outside the top division, it's quite sickening really. (Yes, I know Sterling hadn't played for the first team but was also a lot younger and was wanted by United, City, Arsenal and Tottenham so very highly thought of). Add in the 40% to Tottenham and we'd be getting £3m for a player that could possibly sell for £30m in 2 years time? I'd rather keep him for the final 2 years of his contract out of principle...............unless we can get 40-50% sell on clause like Spurs had.
Spurs have a huge sell on fee so I'd like to get something else as well as the fee, maybe a player swap or a deal that they send their young talent to us on loan.
Can someone post a link to back up this Spurs sell on cut stuff. I've briefly had a look on the web and can find nothing that mentions it, though plenty about his £1m transfer to us.
Going what you get today then Taarabt has to be worth 15m and even selling at that I bet it would come back and laugh at us The club that sold Taarabt for £5 million could suit our club ... will match up with the other deals we have done. We are the webuyanycar.com of the football world ... not to say we have brought some brilliant players we have we then give them away because our fan base doesn't like them or they haven't got that meat head English football way of thinking. I am so disillusioned with what a QPR fan has become in just under 5 years and its rapidly getting worse and needs addressing ... thank heavens we will be getting new ones albeit a bunch of plastics. I want my club to retain its flair at all costs and keep heroes like Taarabt and the famous number 10 shirt. please log in to view this image
I'd agree that £5 million is not enough, but considering that he does not want to play for us, there is no point forcing him to play for us against his will and that we will probably not get a better offer I would see no alternative other than to take it.
Don't see why we couldn't get a better offer. I love the bloke but if he has to go and has a good final few months of the season I'd have thought a few clubs will be interested at more than £5m.
