this has got to be our main aim this season.A cup win would be great, but it would only be icing on the cake !!!We MUST stay in the Premiership this season.I am lucky-enough to have watched our great club win at Wembley against Leeds Utd,but staying in the top flight of English football is now more important.

I think we need to get Sunday out of the way so it's of everyones minds, hopefully a win will give us a boost for the rest of the league season.

For **** sake the two are NOT related!
Just because you do well in a cup isn't at the detriment of your league form, where are man city in the league for **** sake!

This is an argument you can have before the first round of any cup and decide not to enter the ****er.

We are now in the ****ing final it's a bit late now to be worrying about a cup run. I expect the players to leave their guts on the field on Sunday.

    The following league match too!

This would have been relevant before the arsenal game. With three weeks until our next league match, two weeks until our next fa cup match and just one week to the final then as far as I'm concerned the immediate priority is to win the league cup and go all out to do so. Then the priority after the will be the Fa Cup game. I'd use the squad for that game but I'd be going for the win. We shouldn't be throwing matches, we should be trying to win every game we play. We've got a squad for a reason and most of it is fit and chomping at the bit.

Of course the league is priority, but like Funk say's the next game ain't for ages.

You can tell by the clammer for tickets, that Sunday is gonna be a special day for thousands and thousands of SAFC fans, win or lose. If they manage to pull it off, the whole of Wearside and beyond will be a helluve place to be.

Massive under dogs, but most of the country will be willing the under dogs on, expect deep down there maybe a few mags wanting us to win. Mind there maybe a few who it will tip over the edge.

Using your logic, it would have been been better to have got promoted in 73. Can you remember who did? I couldn't, so looked it up. Neither team is in the top flight now.

Everyone knows who won the FA Cup in 73. Few, I would suggest, know who went up.

Winning a cup this year would be fantastic - staying up would be the icing on the cake - we'll come up again.

Yes our squad is big enough and should be good enough to handle all matches in all tournaments. We will have to do it if we want to get into Europe.if we want to act and play like the top teams that's what we have to do.

The cups might actually help us, we will have games in hand and will know what we need to do. It also puts pressure on those around us because they know if they lose we have games still to come.

There are 3 worse sides than us in the league so I think we will be ok.

I firmly believe there is more than three worse than us.we just have to start and prove it.

It would be a very bizzare season if we did that. People like Lawro would still have us pegged on for the drop next season.

Rubbish - has no bearing at all - if the money was like it is nowadays then yes, it would be better to get promoted from the Championship than to win the FA cup (Premier League TV money is more than 20 times the prize money for winning the FA Cup). Besides - weren;t we languishing near the bottom of the second division in 73 when we started the cup run and ended up 7th or something?

In 73 there was no sky money and the 1st division was not a rich place - neither was football in general so getting promoted would do nothing for a club back then like it does now

Times are different now to 73, I was there and it was one of the greatest days of my life, London was buzzing, hopefully the more games we play the better we will be able to assess our squad we have a manager who so far has got most things right, long may it continue it is going to be tight in the league but it always was going to be given our start and continuing to lose vital games , Hull City at home springs to mind, but no team in this league is a pushover this season, it is going right to the wire, hold on to your hats.

Everyone has Birmingham and Wigan on the brain. Could it happen to us? Of course it could but looking at our form over the past 10 league games whilst also balancing cup games im confidant we'll stay up.

Cardiff and Fulham look bad, id fear if I was a West Brom fan Pepe Mel just doesn't look a good appointment and they just don't look like winning games.

Stoke Villa Swansea Norwich all could get sucked into bottom three. Its 3 from 8 now for me.

Well done to West Ham for sticking by Sam Allardyce *Cardiff and West Brom should have held their nerve they certainly wouldn't be any worse off.
