I go to a match with a mixed group, 2 young, 1 middle aged and two old (including myself), we go primarily to see the Saints win, we like a bit of social chat with those around, but during the game I tend to be listening to the Radio Solent commentatory and texting a couple of pals about the game, I don't use the catering or the bookies, if I leave my seat it is only at half time to use the loo myself, or to escort one of the young ones. I always buy a programme, but rarely give it more than a glance! I would like some kind of pre match and half time entertainment, I used to like the occasional Military Band that we had at the Dell, and the regular Brass/Silver bands that played there. The tannoy system is about as bad as it can be, so pop music and announcements are mostly ignored.

I absolutely only go for the football, but I have no issue at all with the club putting on "something to look at" during the down time - if anything, it's good for the kids that come to games. I think the guy that does the chat prior to the games does a good job as it happens. The problem is, you're never going to get anyone particularly decent to do 15 minutes at half time.

Mind you, I suspect the Valley Slags would still be up for a turn. Then again.....I did say decent, didn't I?

Never been the same since the Albion band stopped playing at half-time?

I think that when we lose! My resources are limited so I have cut out the sex, drugs and rock and roll stuff, I prioritise on my football.

And fair play to them, why be understated? Why not expect to be entertained? I really dislike this whole "We're British so we must be understated and can't show any emotion or have any fun, but must be prim and proper and show a stiff upper-lip" rubbish. And competitions for adverts sound like a good idea, we might get less of the dross like that current Merc advert! I swear I was born in the wrong country.

Eh, he was okay but not my favourite singer. I was more referring to the build up, plus the build up at Wembley if you've seen it.

Coincidentally, Portsmouth sent a big fan survey and one of the sections was on the match-day experience so I had a field day there and expressed all of my crazy ideas! So if you end up seeing marching bands or cheer leaders at Fratton Park, you'll know who to blame! <laugh>

Oh come on LTL, make the call. If you've anything about you that Aussie bombshell will be strutting her stuff in some gold hot pants, while pointing at me singing, "Especially for you"

Well, I should be so lucky..... *gets coat*

Talking of half-time entertainment, isn't this the perfect thread for DTLW to post up that video of that c**t westwood falling over at half-time the other day!

That is actually quality half-time entertainment! Just make sure you choose the most drunk fans to take part and you have a winner!
