I noticed something today for the first time.
It looked as though there were pockets of between 4-12 empty seats all around the ground.
Normally you would see one or two here or there but a thought crossed my mind... could it be that groups of ST holders are deciding as a group to stay away from certain matches?
If it were the usual gaps for holidays sickness etc then fair play but large gaps of grey suggest something else.
Have a look in MOTD and you will see what I mean.
Hope it isn't the beginning of a fan exodus because at times today the noise was back to it's old levels.

Looking over from corner of East stand also could see pockets of empty seats. I don't think Villa are a attraction, also recent results haven't helped. There is a couple of lads near who me who have cancelled their season tickets.

Not many people who've paid upfront to see the games would stay away, maybe the empty seats weren't taken up by ST holders and demand from none ST holders isn't as it used to be. Just the one empty seat near me.

the most I could see from my position was in the family section in the Milburn stand
although, there was a large section of seats in the Villa End at the top not taken up

As I just said on the Mackem board, the sole reason for watching Newcastle play out the last few games, is entertainment... Unfortunately it simply isn't entertaining in the slightest, so it's no surprise that people are pissing off somewhere else in search of it. People have been utterly turned off by the direction of the club. That's not to say they are falling out of love with Newcastle United, but are tired of seeing it crippled unfairly and having to watch the remnants of crap on the field.

I'll start watching if they start playing some of the better kids, as that's the only meaning we can give to the season now. Dummett getting game-time was the only thing that I could put in the "pro" column for watching the game.

You'd think Dummett would be a regular starter after today.

Plenty there yesterday. Not a lot of "support" going around though. Shocking display from the fans. We were silent from the off. Then for 10mins at the end the atmosphere was electric. It brought the team alive. Well that, Willo's tackle and Lamberts laughable decision to remove the best player on the pitch. The small amount of fans who booed at half time should be put in stocks in the city centre and pelted. With bags of turd. Absolute morons.

I'd like to see more younguns given a go now as JPF says. We are safe in February and won't have any money to spend in the summer so we are gonna need them. They'll have to do a bit better than Dummett though in terms of their passing. I feel like I watched a different game reading on here today <laugh> All opinions I suppose.

Thought dumnett did alright on set pieces but only average in rest of game.

    Williamsom and Collo very good.

    Anita late on came good.

Noticed some pockets of empty seats.

Couple of fans squaring up cos one had booed the team.

8th top of the premier league i would have taken that at the start. It is disapointing though when you think whatcould have been.

Villa weren't exactly a star turn but not many teams would be able to boast 50k gates.

I'm with Hacky in terms of assessing Dummett. I thought he had some good moments and even came close yo scoring - but he also made some real mistakes that could have cost us.

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather give the younger lads a go and you have to accept that they will make mistakes, but like Hacky, I think Dummett is getting too much hype for Sunday's performance. Hopefully he'll get his chance, especially with Santon injured. But I like the look of Haidara too and would happily give him a run of games.

I think Dummett should start every game for the rest of the season so we can have a good look at him.
