I am going to jump off the "let's blame Allen" wagon (at least until our next loss, regardless of whether he plays or not).
Seriously though, he was critical for our win today, his pressing work rate was phenomenal. He has been slowly gaining form the last few weeks and today he was very impressive.

I love it when fringe players have a good game, hard work & determination does pay off. Just wish he'd pass forward more...

Good lad- hope he has a few more crackers and proves some people wrong. I think the plan this season would have been to rotate him and hendo depending on opposition but his injuries prevented that.

  5. Hendo's blown him out of the water in the last fifteen months

If you've finished with him, can we please have him back? I'd love to see him play for us again one day.

  8. Since we've made him a better player, you'll have to pay for him <whistle>

Take him and Borini for £10 mil at the end of the season, shall we shake?:emoticon-0112-wonde
Thought Suarez and Sturridge were absolute class today, both top draw. The Suarez work rate was phenominal!

  10. That was Suarez on a of day too. His work rate and creativity were still evident, but his shooting was woeful.

Allen can do better than Hendo more than a couple of things IMO.

Have always felt Allen has been harshly treated on here. He has something which no other player in the squad has. I wouldn't like to see him go. Think we possibly overpaid for him but during his first few weeks with us we all thought what a great addition he would be. Injuries have held him back and hendos emergence as (almost) undroppable has meant we haven't seen much of him. Think he might yet play some important part in our last few games.

Bloody hell, all it took was a brief cameo for some of you to change your minds. The Welsh wizard weaves his magic once again. <magic>

Thought Daniel Sturridge deserved a bit of appreciation! The most inform striker in Europe at present and has gone largely unnoticed and isn't even worshipped amongst our own!

Allen ran about a bit.... He is still average and you all should know it by now. Again I keep saying it there is nothing wrong with being average, as long as it's not for lfC firsts

He did far more than just run around. He won the ball back quite a bit, intelligent positioning and clever passing. He's the modern day footballer and I think he will only get better.

I have to say in fairness to the boyo the game was crying out for him yesterday <yikes> First game I've actually thought that but to be fair when he came on the almighty hole in our midfield was plugged. Let's not get toooooooo carried away though, Shelvey going off helped us as much as Allen coming on but fair play to him he did what was asked of him and he did it well enough to make a difference <ok>

Games where we're expected to be the ones to attack requires Gerrard/Lucas, Allen and Henderson as the midfield trio.

Games where we can sit back and hit on the counter is where we can risk just playing 2 centre mids with Coutinho in front.
