It was diabolical mate. It's not that we performed bad, we didn't perform at all. They weren't interested, not in winning the ball or keeping the ball.
I hope you win the league cup. You turned over Leeds in 73, No reason why you can't beat Man city. Wigan got relegated and still beat man city at Wembley. I will watch the game and urge Sunderland on to victory. Having seen Altidore play at Hull City my opinion is he is. Crap. Your better off without him.. Good luck on Sunday.. Go and win the league cup....
My gripe isn't about Altidore's performance yesterday, they were all ****. It's about the fact he's been **** all season, **** his first time in the premiership and he hasn't showed me anything potential wise to say he's ever gunna be anything other than ****
I defended his transfer more than anyone on here. I was sucked in by Youtube footage and I honestly thought he'd have the same impact on us as Benteke did Villa last season.... How wrong was I .
Don't rate him at all, wouldn't put him in a team of kids kicking a flyaway about in a back lane, but it's not what I think that matters it's what Gus thinks of him. Can see him being gone come the summer with no more than 2-3 league goals to his name.
Not only should he not start the final he should not play in a SAFC shirt again. I obviously would like him to come good but at the end of the day he's sh*te. Fletcher at 50% fit and not interested is better. An unfit Scocco is better Wickham with his poor decision making is better ffs Milton Nunez would give garagedoor a run for his money.
Got to say though that I wouldn't like a boxing match with him, it would be too embarrassing. All I would have to do is take a ball in the ring with me & pass it to him when the bell went, he'd be down 3 times in the first ten seconds so the ref would have to call a TKO.
No I dont expect him to to be a world beater but I do expect more than 1 league goal a season (2 in 2 seasons if you take Hull into contention). We look sluggish and ineffective with him as the pivotal forward player. He doesn't hold it up, link play, lay on goals or score goals. You yourself have been advocating playing Borini as the front striker for weeks so you must also be in agreement that Altidore has had his chance and fluffed it. Did you not see how much better we were as an attacking force when Giaccherini and Borini were utilised with better movement and much better technical ability. I'd drop Altidore from now till the end of the season and play Giacherinni behind Borini and introduce Scocco as the 2nd option if Fletcher still isn't fully fit.
You clueless knob. End of. See chucking brainless ****e about is easy. You've probably never had a constructive or intelligent thought in your head your entire life. I imagine the basic functional complexities of ****ting and eating are a struggle for you to comprehend.
Altidore does well in national team, thrives in Dutch football (different style and possibly more skillful than EPL), but failure in EPL for two struggling clubs. Why did we buy him? What has happened to the possible "providers" (Giacch and Johnson) and support striker (Fletcher)? When he has players around him he does bring them into play effectively, as at Fulham and NUFC, he has his weaknesses but don't they all? Case in point is Borini - for me there is a lot of running and shooting, but not a lot of return.
I was one of the first shouting for Borini to lead the line. I'm not defending Jozy, your op was far fetched as he was isolated. We play the ball out from the back, it's where we failed and it had a knock on effect up the pitch. I can't help it if you can't see that mate, but O'shea Vergini, Bardo, Alonso and Bridcutt were the worst players on the pitch. There was adequate effort from the full backs but that's it. Our whole defensive unit backed off all game and paniced on the ball. 1st and 3rd goals were down to backing off, Vergini and Bardo played themselves into an impossible situation for the second goal. As for the 4th goal, I don't know who was meant to be marking the goal scorer and Bardo left his post as the corner was taken running into no mans land. But know, lets all focus on the bloke who got no service what so ever while a mod tries to silence me for calling them all lazy ****s who threw the game
Who do you think? Don't need shushing like a child, If I was losing control I got my lass sat right next to me to tell me to calm down, don't think he liked what I was saying that's all as he's repeatedly defended that sack of **** performance. Well he can get ****ed, I say it how I see it if he doesn't like it unlucky. He'll be telling me to chill out in a minute. ****ing hate being humoured me.
Didn't think him to be honest mate. He's always sound and I thought you's two got on alright? None of my business like. You're right though, you've got the right to express your opinions anyway you see fit.
I think he's sound mate. Not sure why he went like that. He 'gets me' but 'he gets it' apparently. I must be out of order in some way.
It's on the first page of this thread. He also went weird on my 'Team of ****ing cowards' dodging my question and digressing like a politician. Very strange and very confusing. I just said it didn't matter and ****ed off in the end.
I've already just said that we don't create a great deal for our forwards but that still doesn't answer the Altidore question of never even looking like scoring. He doesn't make runs into goal scoring positions and he doesn't hold the ball up when it does come his way but he is brilliant at putting the badly done to look when he is having a mare of a game. Once Borini went up front, the very same team suddenly looked far better and had far more options for them to hit. I don't rate Altidore at all as a footballer but he seems like a decent bloke. His poor ability may well cost us our place in the EPL if we just persist with him and we may as well kiss any slim chance we may have next sunday if he starts IMO. He isn't unlucky or badly supported he is just not very good and I cant help it if you cant see that either.
