Have we ever been able to say that?

For ages we've been scratching around for one striker who can net goals, now we have a handful. Sure we've had Burgess & Allsopp, Campbell & Deano, Bunn & Saville, Chilton & Waggy (although it's before me..)

Brighton on Monday: Sagbo & Aluko will surely be the strikeforce and I'm confident with them, while Long & Jelly are a top combo in the PL

Then there's super Matt who is pretty decent against Championship defences if need be.

    What a refreshing change..

Aluko is one of our best players so you'd hope we can squeeze him into the first team somewhere, rather than him just being a part of our 2nd choice strikeforce.

Square peg and round holes for Aluko at the moment. He will need to come off the bench and score to get a starting spot now

There's room for him certainly. Now for him to have an absolute stormer on Monday so Bruce has a selectorial headache.

I don't see why Aluko can't be a winger. When he plays up front, he does more damage dropping deep/wide anyway.

    How about 4-3-1-2?

    Mac
    elmo, Curtis, Chester, rosie
    meyler, hudd, livermore
    aluko (free role)
    Jela, long

Lots of variations (4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, 4-4-2) from same players

He should be more "selectorial" with his words Ernie!

Not sure id want 3 strikers on to start, better to have one chomping at the bit to come off the bench and prove a point

Not sure how long he'd be willing to fulfill that role.

There is no way that Aluko should be a sub for a team like us, he is still probably our best player IMO (close with Davies and Long). Him, Long and Brady are the only creative players we have.

Also he isn't a striker, he drops deep for the ball all the time so needs people in front of him to create for i.e Sagbo at Dresden/Brighton

This is why a 3-4-1-2 with Aluko behind JLO is the most potent use of his considerable ability. Don't think SB will fancy it away but at the KC it'd massively increase the pressure we can put on teams in their own half.
