As a Jelavic fan boy I have to say even though he scored 2 goals, Long was brilliant and the team as a whole. Tough decision.

Great performance by Jelavic but our game revolved around our rock-solid back line.

Difficult after first two - great team performance. Worth pointing out that we have the 5th best defence in the Premier League. That ain't relegation material.

Seems harsh leaving anyone out but Rosenior was fantastic all game, Jelavic took the goals very well - and had good link up play at other times - and Long worked his socks off to create things.

A very hard decision as it was collectively one of the best performances I have seen from a City side. There are often one or two not so great performances even in excellent wins but today nobody had a poor game.
Those who queried what we paid for Long and Jelly owe an apology that is for definite. The second goal was a joy to behold and the sort of play we have been missing for a long time.
A word for Alex Bruce who may not be the most naturally blessed but twice today made the sort of body on the line challenges a lot of more highly rated players wouldn't do.

I'd go with Yer Man LA.

What we've lacked for a few years is someone who can regularly get into goal scoring positions and finish half of them.

    Jelavic is such a player.

Hate to be the one, but....
I got the feeling that we were a little flattered by the score line. We have a genuine strike force now, that is clear and our defence was rock solid (maybe that's all that's needed in football - take your chances and stop your opponents from taking theirs), but Cardiff were bloody terrible and had they been just a little better in the first half, we may well have been behind.
Don't get me wrong, wonderful win but I just think some of the praise is a little too enthusiastic and in the midfield engine room we're still to recapture the form we had earlier.
Nonetheless, a wonderful 3 points and it sure beats the, "hell, we created so many opportunities and lost" scenario!

No 'maybe' about it ! except i suppose you have to be able to create the chances in the first place..........

I agree with this, Long and Jelavic are starting to look like a bargain. I am also happy to have been wrong about Bruce junior, he has been solid whenever called upon. Who would have thought he would make it as a premier league footballer? Excellent result yesterday, just what we needed.
