Assuming HBA, Cisse and Shola go, and that we don't sign Remy but retain LDJ then we need 3 strikers (2 top players and a Rhodes type), a CM to replace Cabaye, Possibly another left back, a CB, a RM.
If any more go... we then need to replace them too....

    http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rob-lee-need-sign-seven-6729880?

Newcastle United will have to buy seven or eight players this summer just to stand still.

Even if we keep all our players – which is unlikely – there needs to be at least three, and it should be four, signings made.

But I believe Cheick Tiote, Loic Remy and Fabricio Coloccini have only a few months left of their Newcastle careers.

Papiss Cisse is probably going to go as well, and unless Hatem Ben Arfa can rediscover his best form over these final 12 games, he’s off.

Throw in a few fringe players who will be moved on and that’s a lot of bodies to replace, just to have the same number of squad players that we have now.

And we don’t have enough now.

Tiote will go. He can’t be happy. I think he’s a brilliant player, but he won’t want to be at a club that sells their best players. Which is what we do these days.

When Tiote plays, Newcastle play well. If he’s not in the team or has an off day, it has a huge detrimental effect on the team.

For all that Yohan Cabaye was brilliant, he would have been the first to credit Tiote with giving him a platform.

Coloccini has spent a year and a bit making waves about leaving. That will happen again in the summer. I can’t see anything being done this time to make him stay.

And there is no chance of Remy signing a permanent deal. Who is going to score our goals then?

He’s proved himself to be one of the better strikers in the Premier League and there will be a multitude of clubs after him.

As with Tiote, why would he choose Newcastle if they seem intent on cashing in on anyone who might attract a bid. That’s our three best players.

I would hold out for at least £15m for Tiote. I’m not suggesting he’s worth that, but in the modern market there are players going for that kind of money not as good as him.

We won’t get anything for Remy and what, honestly, is the sale of Coloccini going to raise?

Factor in Cabaye’s departure and four regulars gone from a squad that’s down to its bare bones. Alan Pardew said the other week that a big job would be undertaken this summer. He wasn’t wrong.

Depending on whether he has a good World Cup or not, Mathieu Debuchy could go as well. Only one thing will happen if a club does come in for him with a serious bid.

When I first saw Debuchy, I couldn’t believe how poor he was. I couldn’t work out how he managed to become France’s first choice right-back.

But he’s won me around. The guy has a great attitude, he fights and scraps for everything. However, he and Cabaye are best mates and he may fancy following him to PSG. It leaves us in a bit of a state. We face losing some seriously good players.

Even if we replace them in terms of numbers, to get in people of the same quality will be difficult.

And that means going into next season with a weaker squad than we have now.

When I played for the club, there was no such thing as an unimportant game. Because we bought players then, to make sure you kept your place meant playing well. Every single week.

That’s not the case now and I’ve heard it said that these final 12 games don’t matter. I actually don’t believe the players will think that.

We always had something to play for whether it was titles, we had an FA Cup run or getting to the Champions League.

But even if there was nothing to play for in terms of trophies for Europe, performing in front of 52,000 Geordies always helped me get up for a game.

A Newcastle United match, home or away, is a big deal. Every time. It will be the same against Aston Villa on Sunday.

You could argue this is an opportunity to blood some kids, but I would caution against that. Young players have a fragile confidence and it could do them more harm than good to throw them in when the team isn’t playing well.

In saying that, they might get more chances than they might expect next season.

The Fat Twat will want to protect his investment though. That's the best we can cling to I reckon.

7 players in the summer? Just a summer dream, I reckon, unless bloat features sells up before that time.

Why do you only want half a dish? It wouldn't work properly.

    **** off.

In relation to the summer, yes Rob we will need around seven players but we won't be getting them. Maybe three if we are lucky.

Three at the outside. That's if Pards gets on his hands and knees to MA.

Yes, the £70 odd million from selling Cabaye and this seasons unspent TV revenue profits will mysteriously disappear, along with next seasons profits from TV revenue. I think the crud that is Football Direct News hints at the stance we'll take this summer:

“We’ll probably have to sell before we can buy, and it’s possible that it’ll be Ben Arfa that makes way,” “Costa is a top talent and although there might be a lot of teams in for him, we’d be interested in trying to do a deal.”

HBA has loads of talent, but it's a case of which HBA turns up on match days.

    Overly long that.

Unless contracts are up in the summer, I really don't see that much transfer movement.

We're playing like absolute ****e at the minute but we're safe as far as relegation goes.

One or two may go, but there will be no exodus - Pardew has been here a while now and the team really should be beginning to resemble his long-term plan - I realise Pardew hasn't been backed nearly enough in the transfer market, but when is that likely to change?

It's all rather average from Management & Players currently... maybe because that's what they are?

Seems not to bother Mr Ashley.

Very little transfer activity either way in my opinion.

You and I know Ashley's tastes, but please, it's a family board. Let's keep it clean.

Now 13 points clear of the relegation candidates with a game in hand over Cardiff and Fulham.

I think you need at least 7 new players before next weekend.
