Matthews came out about 5 days before Ledley left saying that he had told him he wanted to sign the new deal.

I don't trust the current board one bit Dev. My opinion is that Ledley wanted to stay, Palace offered money, Celtic took the money, told Ledley the deal had changed so he'd be better leaving. End of story.

    Aye, this.

That **** Lawwell only gives a **** about bank balances so he can take the pish out of Rangers and get his face in the papers/on the telly. Meanwhile, the team gets worse year on year as the bank balance grows.

If he really wanted to stay he'd have signed one of the deals offered earlier. He took a risk and has ended up at Palace

Good luck but you made your bed

Is the Celtic board really that bad?

Would they ever let Lennon's contract run down and see if they would get any money for him?

You go to Marks & Sparks and buy a pair of trousers for 30 quid and they last you a good few years but you decide you need a new pair. So, you go back to M&S and buy the same style of trousers but, due to rising costs and inflation, they now cost 35 quid. Sadly, due to the poor quality of the material and stitching, they fall apart after only six months.

That is what Celtic is now. A company charging people increasingly expensive season tickets/match tickets for an increasingly inferior product.

Has Doomcaster done any damage to your club since he's been there, or is it just your board that has fallen below your standards?

If Celtic knocked back the offer from Palace, he would have left for **** all in the summer. He had no intention of signing a new deal, obviously Celtic would have preferred that he did, then they could have got 5/6 times what they got by selling him in the summer or a years time.

All this reeks of a player not wanting to be made to look like the bad guy. If he wanted to stay, he could have signed way before deadline day. Matthews is quoted as saying that Joe was gonna sign the new deal a few days before the Palace bid came in, so if the deal was on the table days before D'day, why wait if you are gonna sign??

No problem with him leaving, just don't suck up to the fans saying you wanted to stay when its bleeding obvious you were always leaving. Now for a little cash or in the summer for **** all.

Good player and good guy Joe, but this **** is beneath you!!

All this. The offer that he was apparently going to sign had been made several months ago. He was always for the off. <ok>
