Well MP clearly doesnt think he's better than JWP or he'd have got on more. Have heard he's well thought of but my guess is its the usual next Paul Scholes rubbish.

The next Paul Scholes, oh Paul Scholes used to play for United, let's link him there based on nothing but that.

Scholes and Beckham played in the same team. Why can't Reed and Prowse? :D

As of 11:30 yes, this was made at 7:30, does it really matter?

I have noticed that it is usually based on appearance. Has any paper ever likened a black player to a white player or vice versa?

I don't see it being a massive deal tbh, I would rather see this on homepage as it's today's news than have to scroll through pages on the transfer thread on the off chance something is there.

Each to there own I suppose. :)

Rio Ferdinand in his prime was compared to Bobby Moore: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opi...y-Moore-By-David-McDonnell-article440453.html

I broadly agree though, the Reed/Scholes comparison is clearly much more down to appearance than playing style, since nobody really knows what Reed's playing style is.

A bit like Scholes tbh. <laugh>
But he is more skillful(feet wise not sure about passing wise)and he can time his tackles. Unlike Scholes.

Don't get me started on Scholes tackles (oh, too late :)). He got away with murder because he had a reputation of being a late tackler without real malice. Everyone would just say..typical Scholsie. He played long enough to overcome it. It was a deliberate ploy that he was allowed to get away with...can just imagine Ferguson if a player from another team kept taking out his players whenever there was danger.

P.s. generally admired Scholes...just not that 'innocent' tackling.

Just seen the irony in my new signature :)

I expect he will be proud to line up with a player that is earning £300,000 pounds a week for doing the same job.
