Now maybe I'm just niaive or indeed stupid, but wasnt the whole point of them going back to square one to sort out the finances, learn from the mistakes and to live within their means? They were given a golden opportunity to clear out big earners who they couldnt sustain and to manage a profit whilst achieving success. How is it then, a couple of years later with 40,000+ crowds every other week they still lose so much money? Did they really need to sign players that good or costly? They won the league and are winning the league by ridiuclous amounts, couldnt they just have picked up the best lower league players and paid them 1k a week? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26269789
They made the mistake of signing SPL players to play in the Scottish fourth-tier, when they ought to have signed proven lower league footballers and taken the slowly-but-surely approach.
It is odd that despite getting 40k attendances they are struggling for cash. On turnover alone that is 23 (games) x £600k. This excludes any other income and there will be some considerable numbers being generated
18 games. They're 10-team leagues with a double-round-robin format. That's still £10.8m of revenue, though, assuming takings per-match of around £600k. Add to that the huge merchandising and TV rights that come with the fact they're bloody Rangers Football Club and they should be capable of annihilating everyone in the lower divisions without taking financial risks. In fact, that kind of money should be enough for them to beat everyone in the SPL without taking financial risks (bar-Celtic, of course). It's really quite remarkable
Its only antagonistic if you dont like it. Maybe Happys like me and he doesnt like seeing Allams a **** Allams senile etc. Are they antagonistic?
It's antagonistic if you are looking to provoke a reaction from other posters. The people writing Allam is a **** are not looking to get a reaction and you are perfectly entitled to write why you think he isn't in a reasoned manner. Comments like his there do not contribute to debate and have caused this board to descend into shouting matches and personal battles. It really is taking away from what a football discussion website is meant to be.
They're factually accurate assessments of our owner's mental health and general character. Not antagonistic whatsoever.
They should be locally sourced pies too, sold at below cost price too we dont want the greedy **** making money out of us. Plus i can buy 12 bottles of Stella for 8 quid in the supermarket, he should sell them at a quid a go and still make a profit. This boards about football everything else is a laugh a wind up a piss take. Take it or leave it.
None of us have suggested that we only need to sell a few pies locally to make up £20m per season, and Happy well knows that. That we know that he knows is the reason nobody has bitten. When people mention local merchandise sales, it is whilst pointing out that our club shop is a joke (usually an empty one) and that there is virtually no advertisement of our club in Hull or the East Riding. This is a major reason why we have the smallest revenue of any of the Premier League clubs. Most owners, surely, would see that as a priority before trying to conquer the world with a risible name-change that all evidence suggests will do substantially more harm than good.
Which club shop? Every time I've been in the one at the kc on match day it's been heaving. Granted I've not been able to get to any matches this season so it may be different since the name change stuff?
