I like Meyler in the 5 man MF. He likes to get forward..not afraid to get stuck in although clumsy at times...combines well with Elmo..is a threat on headers in their box (Brighton late header which should have won the game for example). I love his enthusiasm and team spirit...he's always one of the first to congratulate the scorer. Glad we have him!!

His goal against Liverpool was really terrible as well!

Meyler is streets ahead of Marney (but a similar distance behind Ash)

Ade Akinbiyi got a few goals in the Premier League. He was still ****.

Surely even Andy cannot defend Ade. Though he'll probably try.

He doesn't mind people slagging Akinbiyi.

Just don't say a word against Frank Sinclair...

I feel like Meyler is the glue to our team sometimes. The little piece that makes everything click. Does all the little things right.

That "Glue" is CLAG which he appears to be lost in. I guess the ongoing MoM points allocation says a lot about Meyler's performances he has the lowest points awarded for a midfielder 2pts (obviously he never puts in a standout performance) and only beats one player Chester 1pt who has spent more time injured than playing.

When he's on form he's a good larker.

When he's not he's usually the worst player on the pitch.

Unfortunately he has more of the latter than the former IMO.

If we want to progress and become an established mid table PL team he shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11.

    IMO.

He may be glue that makes things tick (not sure how that's possible), and I can see the benefits he brings with his attitude and energy when played alongside Thudd and Jake - but how could anyone even consider leaving Thudd or Livermore out to start Meyler in their place?

His serious limitations on the ball are surely obvious to everyone.
