I am wondering if anybody knows how many season tickets have been sold compared to this time last year as this may give some indication of what funds might be available for players. (There goes another pig flying by my window!!)There is hardly information coming out of the Club at present, so I doubt very much if this information has been readily released unless the sales are considerably greater than last year.
http://gills365.co.uk/gillingham-ticket-sales-considerably-down I'm guessing you have not seen this article baldeagle? No official word but seems pretty reliable. And not surprising.
No, I had not seen the article before and thank you for posting the link. By leaving the buying of players until the last minute has a detrimental affect on the Club because, A, Sufficient funds will not be made available as other monies that we do have will be earmarked to clear some of the current debt. B, The team will be unable to bond together before the serious stuff kicks off because any new players will be late arrivals. C, Fans will not buy season tickets when 11 players have left the club with maybe, a few more yet to follow and as of this minute, we have not signed any new players. D, The current players will start to lack confidence in both the Chairman and Manager and will question their serious intentions about getting promoted. E, This will make it difficult for players to join the Club with the Club's lack of ambition. Ok, some fans will leave it late to buy their season tickets but I hope by that time it is not too late.
