    I sincerely hope not cos he has been one of our most improved players this season.....by a country mile

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ieu-debuchy-unsure-over-future-amid-psg-links

    Kinda inevitable once Cabs left that his good mate would be linked with a return back to his native France and PSG have been sniffing around before. Not sure who they have at right back at the mo or if he's even any good.

    If Cashley wants to cash in then we shouldn't be looking at anything less than £15m I reckon, but knowing our lot he'll probably go for £10m...probably less when you look at the Enrique sale !

    Pards is gonna have to be given money in the summer and the scouts had better be working overtime at the mo cos Colo is gonna be away and if Debuchy goes along with Remy we'll be royally ****ed if we don't invest heavily.

    Wouldn't surprise me to see Shola given a new 8 year ****ing deal as well as Saylor...and Raylor is back so that'll give them the perfect opportunity to wheel out the "it's like a new signing" statement !

    Seriously worried like !

    Shock horror eh? As you say inevitable. It'll be PSG, Bayern or Arsenal then. If its PSG then Van Der Wiel is gonna be pretty unhappy! You couldn't really blame him if they were the options, all great ambitious clubs. At 28 they are opportunities he could not knock back. I think Mike will want 12m plus.

    As long as we don't sell Shola we'll be ok.

    Penny wise, pound foolish.

    If he's going to sell all our best players if offers come in for them, we're not going to have a team worth supporting.

    If he does go to PSG the average skill level of both teams will go down

    Can't blame him. He's a quality player with ambition who is reaching his peak years. His best mate has ****ed off and there's nothing to keep him here. I'd hope for £12m, possibly more if he has a good World Cup, but then does it really matter how much we get, so long as the minimum is say £10m? Anything more is unlikely to go towards transfers anyway.

    I can't be him and am totally expecting his departure.
    Raylor will be back soon so that will be like a new signing.

    lost in translation ?????

    http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-art...y-leave-newcastle-interview-true-translation/

    2 mins ago by Jackie Smithfield

    Earlier today we reported on the story dominating the headlines, claims that an interview in France with Mathieu Debuchy showed the player wasn’t loyal to Newcastle and that when asked about next season, had refused to commit himself.

    The quote that was being used everywhere was along these lines;

    newcastle squad“PSG? I am here (Newcastle) until the end of the season – and for next year? I do not know’”

    Well it was actually a radio interview in France with RMC that the ‘quote’ has been taken from. We’ve looked and found it impossible to find where the written quote, supposedly taken from the radio interview, was first used. Not that the media as a whole care, they have simply repeated it without caring what the truth may be and a loose ‘from French media reports’ etc etc.

    We asked our top translator Pierre to investigate and no prizes for guessing that the actual TRUTH is somewhat different to what everybody has reported.

    Over to Pierre;

    The whole programme is about interviewing prospective players for the French team going to Brazil.

    Debuchy spoke at length of hoping to go to Brazil, making the French team, representing his country. His memories of favourite world cup etc. etc. but the small bit that has been plucked out to make headlines (and money!) in England…here is the true translation of what Debuchy said;

    Q “You are staying over there, you are not moving?

    Debuchy “No (I’m not moving), yeah I am here (Newcastle)”

    Q ”What about next year, you might join him (Cabaye at PSG), you never know?”

    Debuch “No it’s not that” (the translation is NOT “I do not know”!!!)

    Then the interviewer explains that it’s important for him to play well and perform to make the French team, to which Debuchy replies, “We have a very important end of season to come” and when asked who is he playing next…Debuchy, “We are playing Aston Villa this Sunday.”

    Hmmm, I wonder why the correct translation wasn’t used, it couldn’t possibly be because Debuchy not hinting at leaving isn’t a sexy (sellable) story, could it….?

    It could well be that Debuchy not hinting at leaving isn't as sellable as him saying he wanted to leave.

    Off the field as on the field, a very good pro.

    Well done him.

    There are an awful lot of journalists who will spin stories to their benefit or to cause upset, I had one journalist who regularly ran bad stories about my business without any attempt to verify them, each time I complained to his editor they ran a retraction in very small print buried in the paper, I had to be pulled off him when I finally caught up with him in a pub one night.
