QPR captain Adel Taarabt has apologised for his outburst on international duty and hopes to patch things up with Morocco manager Eric Gerets. The 22-year-old vowed never to play for his country again after he found out he would start on the bench for their African Nations Cup qualifier with Algeria last month. But, having insisting that the national team was "over" for him, Taarabt has now admitted that he made a mistake and it is understood that he has requested a meeting with the manager about his future for Morocco. "I know I made a mistake," he told Moroccan TV channel RTM. "I made a decision when I was fired up and regretted it one second later. I should never have done it."
22 and it's already his second comeback from international retirement. This man makes me laugh so much. Show's how good a job NW has done with him.
I can just about remember when I was 22. If he's impetuous, then I was seriously off the radar in comparison. 22 FFS! Give him a break!
This kid would literally drive me insane if I was his coach/manager. If he doesn't mature soon it will have very damaging consequences on his climb up the footballing ladder.
The good thing about this is that, at the moment, no other club will really want to take a chance on him. He'll be in Hoops at least until January....
Is it simply maturing he needs? If I didn't know better I'd suspect there was just a hint of the Mediterranean temperament about young Adel... grow outta that before you're 40!
