Not too long until the world cup.

    Anyone thinking of going?

I've been looking into flights, and it's not as bad as I thought. Quite a lot if you shop around are towards the 650 return mark with one stopover. That's not ridiculous at all considering the distance.

Accommodation costs may be the issue - when I went to Ukraine 2012, this almost stopped me going however in the end I found somewhere for 35 a night.

Tickets are currently offsale as they are doing the ballet/ allocating, however more will become available in March and I think many games will be easy to acquire.

Swan Lake or The Nutcracker? ;-)

I did hear about an English firm that have bought land and are turning it into some kind of glamping / campsite. If i remember or find the article, i'll post you the link.

Many thanks for this Stretchy, looks awesome!

I'm tempted to stay in Sao Paulo for three games, more tickets are on sale March 12 I think I read.

I'd love to go, but the missus won't have it.
I also have the advantage of staying with my sister in law if i went, who's Brazilian, and has recently moved back to Brazil, and has offered to put me up - altough not sure where she is.
If you do go - good luck to you, as i'm sure it'll be awesome - as long as we stick one up Suarez!

SD, I had one of my stupidly long rants on the subject before so I wont bore everyone with it again!
Its not the world cup its international football in general and the whole way the English operate in specific.
I gave up with them mid 90's when you would know the squad before it was picked regardless of form/ injuries and how anyone was playing. Since then we have had foreign managers and the lack of intent and interest from some players. To be fair Hodgson does appear to be turning things around but not enough to make me consider taking time out to actively watch a match (rather than a background diversion)
On top of that you have the thuggish behaviour of a small amount of fans who decide its right to beat someone up just because they have beaten you in a game of football and the press (especially the s*n) with the build them up just to knock them down attitude before every major tournament. Admittedly this last paragraph has nothing to do with the FA and the international team but it just sours everything for me.

    I understand TB.
Aren't you interested in watching other teams purely for entetainment though?.
Personally I'm going to follow Belgium's progress because they look to have a good team.I wouldn't be surprised if they top their group and are one of my tips for the semi finals.

SD I agree about Belgium although Benteke has gone off the boil this season. I will be watching and will support England but I'd rather be watching Ipswich play Accrington Stanley, England do come a poor second ever since they went foreign( not sure I've revealed my feelings on this before:p) with the manager selection and since then I have lost any buzz about the national team, and I did travel away to tournaments and used to love it but those days are gone......maybe it's just me getting old or maybe the team is tarnished.

I did a small bet on Belgium back in 2011 to both win / final Euro 2012 ( 150-1 didn't end up qualifying ) and the world cup next year ( 250-1 )

This was on the basis of at the time Kompany, Fellaini and Defour. Little did I know they were about to produce an absolute bucket load of other players I'd not heard of back then.

I went to Cardiff for their qualifier v Wales where they won 2-0. Absolutely superb side, but boy do they need a fit Kompany or zero hope of them doing anything!

SD, I wont actively seek to watch any game. If there is nothing better on the telly then I will turn on the footie and see what its like regardless of who is playing but I think the games are mainly late evening UK time arent they? If so I will probably just go to bed!

I do agree that Belgium currently look like having great individual talent but Im not sure how well they gel as a team (having not watched them).
