Sad that people won't go because it's a cup game, and they'll moan that the cup isn't what it was, and also sad that the club don't do more to address it.
They'll be the same ones grumbling about not being at the front of the queue for Wembley tickets too no doubt.
All depends on who has the rights to 'first' pick. Arsenal v Everton will be first choice If we lose the replay then Brighton v Sunderland will interest the media and will be second choice ahead of the other 2 games. Otherwise I reckon Man City v Wigan will be second TV choice. A Hull City/Sunderland game might even be 4th option depending if the 2 Sheffield clubs meet each other.....
Given costs such as win bonuses etc. versus low attendances etc. do Premier League clubs actually make much money from the FA Cup? I know relative to the league they don't. Is it possible that some clubs' campaigns, that reach the latter stages, result in an overall net loss?
With about £200k a game for the TV rights, I suspect we could let everyone in for free and give them a pie and a pint, without losing money.
But, if we looked at us for example, we’ve only been on the TV once so far. If we’d have say got knocked out at Southend or last night, would our cup run have definitely made profit? I suppose I assume players to be wielding very decent win bonuses, which could be admittedly wrong.
If we'd got knocked out at Southend we'd probably have made a loss and I'm not sure how TV more is split for the away team in a televised game, but as we're at home for the next two(assuming there is two) and they're both televised, we're laughing from now on.
I thought they might have done tickets for £10 for this game as it's on TV as well Well done to Brighton for caring about their fans anyway
i think prices are decent £15 quid for an adult and under 16 a fiver, i think its important everyone goes with the right attitude players/fans-its one home game off the quarter finals of the F.A cup yes its on in the pub but nothing beats getting behind the lads, i think the crowd will be around 13000 but would be a near sell out against Sunderland
It's not completely true. You can have televised games on the same nights as European games. http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/...ick-offs-for-st-johnstone-celtic-and-rangers/ I'd have thought that was a better arrangement for us vs Brighton than the current one to be honest. Certainly team wise a Tuesday 6pm would be better, fan wise it'd be a bit of a rush for home fans but nothing insurmountable for most, and travelling fans would benefit. They've got to have the day of work anyway, so getting to head home earlier would be a good thing.
