Despite only having a hard core support of about 3. Condemnation from football clubs the world over, ex players and politicians, he still continues to think it's a great idea. What a ****wit.
Is Deano actually going to come out with a decent supportive argument? Anyway, I hate that CTWD reps still fundamentally support Allam. This has gone way too far to be viewed as a small oversight by Allam, and he is otherwise fine. CTWD know full well he doesn't give a **** about fans, so why do they still support 'the Allam regime'? Their whole argument is that a name change doesn't respect fans. So why would you want an owner who clearly doesn't respect fans? The question probably/hopefully won't need to be addressed, because this feels like a final battle. I just think it is an incoherent position. I feel like not many fans agree with me - so ultimately I have to accept that my views shouldn't be pushed ahead (since I want what is best for the collective group). But I think, from what many are saying about the name change - that should progress to an idea of fan ownership - and we shouldn't want any single person owning and controlling our football club just because he can pay the financial price set by a market. Communities are not commodities.
Same as what he's said before, maybe in a slightly more considered manner. Deano is still looking for a job at the club. Allam is still threatening to leave is the change is blocked. On that point I was speaking to someone with very solid connections in the club and apparently the threats to walk are very real. I don't really understand how they can be if he doesn't want to lose all his money but people at City believe he is being serious about it which is worrying.
How amazing would that be. I'm dubious about whether it will happen, but damn it would be a dream come true.
I agree that he is a complete tool and his lack of respect for the fans has made me lose all respect for him that he gained by saving the club. However, what will happen if he wants to leave? If he tries to sell nobody will buy it for how much he has put in so I can't imagine him doing that. Alternatively he could sell our entire team and keep parachute payments as we drop down into non-league. I can't really see how this will end well unless he has an epiphany and realises how ridiculous the idea has been all along, then apolagises to the fans for being a dickhead.
I fear for Allam if he does do that. No joking, I can honestly see someone going as far as to try to kill him.
Still, after all of this, all the journalists that have spoken to Allam have only dared to skim the surface.... none of them delve deeper into it and ask for more in-depth answers. Either that or they're just not good enough at their jobs. "I'm not changing the name, I am shortening it". "Ok, thanks for that. Next Question". *wow! this journalism lark is easy, isn't it? ...thinks Clarke Carlisle*.
I agree with this, I cant split the 2 elements. I simply cannot overlook the name change and thank him for the rest of his 'good work'. For me he is plain and simple the worst owner we have ever had.
The important part of that interview was that he never confirmed (assuming he was asked) he would 'walk away' if the FA vetoed the name change. He did say that if the majority of fans were against the change then he would walk within 24 hours with a smile on his face. That to me means he's changed his stance if the FA vote is 'No'. Unless of course he's forgotten what he said to Bryn Law a few weeks ago....
He's shortening the name after lengthening it initially of course, but the shorter name he wants is still longer then HULL CITY. The complete lack of respect this man has towards our fans is quite incredible, he thinks we're all thick as f**k.
